- Scottish fans belt out the national anthem in the recent game against England at Hampden. If this doesn't give you goosebumps then there is something wrong.
I'm English and it gives me goodebumps... as does the Welsh anthem! I love that we are different but can live in harmony now!

@@Mark_Bickerton English Parliament was closed in 1707, It's been Britain ever since, Scotland, Wales and the north of Ireland all have parliaments of their own again, except England, I think its about time folk down there started to want their own again and remember what England is.

Yeah, he thought "oh shit" because he faced war on multiple fronts and so rapidly made peace with france before the commanders he left behind made any more blunders. At stirling the english dismissed the scots forces as a rabble which is why they charged cavalry into a bottleneck in range of archers rather than looking at a nearby ford and thinking that it might be an idea to nip round and fight in a place that suited heavy horse.
You're right he did comeback, with as many soldiers as he could muster, but given that scotland won the war for independence under 20 years later it was more of a bloody nose than annihiliation
