i agree that it is raising rent prices and should get cracked down on. i think it shouldve been that there is proof that this is your primary residence, so you can still sublet through airbnb etc.

I wonder if they make it point base like earning miles so that they go round some regulations.. or maybe Chinese websites.. or rent it for 30 days with a deposit and 7 days after, if they don’t like it, leave and 3 weeks of money back. I don’t think they can be that successful implementing the regulations.

I live in my house and rent out a couple rooms on Airbnb. It really helps with our bills. Why is it now a crime for me to do this??? Smh sad man. Can never get ahead in NY
So basically a large family is out of luck when it comes to staying in NYC. Most hotels do not have multi-bedroom suites. This is such crony capitalism and is subsidizing large hotel conglomerates by banning the competition.
Short Term Rentals is unfair to the local homeowners & renters who love life style of the local community. Short term renter careless about the local community and often do everything they can do destroy and leave. It should NOT be allowed in a residential housing area in the first place. It also try up the home price for people who really need the home for a family instead of making a residential housing area into a high crime commercial housing.

Cannot rent for less than 30 days? How about just saying no Airbnb allowed
But it effectively eliminates AirBnBs😭
Yeah, that was the intention.

Since we don't want to make subways safer, let's crack down on Airbnbs smh
This is easier to enforce . And I’m glad
I mean having a place to live is more pertinent than improving public transport safety wouldn't you agree?

Airbnb is ridiculous with it's high cost & cleaning fee and soooo many other fees.
It started out well and ended up as a scam. So just like most things.

The company itself, AirBNB makes waaayyyy too much money for what they do.
From my Airbnb experience…just stay in a hotel.
how can they find out whether the host stays with guests or not?
AirBnB probably gon roll out a feature. Idk how they would know though...unless a guest snitches lol
not worth the risk if someone snitches or you get sued
