Absolutely brilliant, unique soulful, powerful bluesman. No one can touch him... 🎸
"Burglar" is one of my favourite albums. Freddie is the King for my money.
I like his playing because he played with more agression and attitude then the other Kings. Very much the prototypical blues rocker.
Agreed. Also the better singer in my opinion. Seems like he had the best songs and the guitar and vocals are balanced.
Apples and oranges. BB and Albert were originals and said plenty . Yes Freddie became more of a blues rocker (and I love it) but that doesn’t make it “better” if you love Blues: it’s not a competition but each has their voice as did Sunnyland Slim; Might Joe Young; Junior Wells; Charles Brown ; Junior Parker; Otis Spann; Robert Jr Lockwood ; Jimmy Rogers; Lowel Fulsom; George “Harmonica” Smith and scores of greats!
@@AndrewVOdom Right, He is more rock
On behalf of the blues guitarist around the world we thank you.
Freddie King was on another freakin' level, man. I can't fathom what went through that man's mind and soul and fingers to produce what he did
It seemed to me that Freddy was able to channel every Blues he had ever heard and every terrible moment he ever experienced. You could tell just by the look on his face that he was not f****** kidding. The best of the best of the best of all the bluesmen. 😎
Freddie is arguably the most powerful blues singer/guitarist ever. When you listen to Palace of the King you'll know what I mean.
I just left a similar comment but you said it better than I did. Cheers
Got to see Freddie and this band several times at the Electric Ballroom in Atlanta. Dickey Betts sat in one night and played a white Strat. Freddie will always be a fave!
Wow !
Freddie NEVER had a bad show. Half hour , 45 minutes, 1 hour it didn't matter .You were in the room with Freddie King and his hand picked band and they would KNOCK YOU SOOKS OFF. Ask me how I know .I was THERE many times. We miss you Freddie.
Man my man! Listen to that organ it sounds like a Hammond organ. Legendary blues man from Texas been listening to him since was 14 and I am 74. Love this thanks for posting!!❤
Esto si es música de verdad me gusta
I am so happy that you found this footage. Just outstanding.
Man he should have recorded a full album with this band.the piano and organ had something different
The King of the Kings!
Exactly the words I was going to write!
Thanks Master Of The incredíble Sound !
I’ve been looking for a live version of Palace of the King, thank you!!
everytime he got to baby' in baby dont you wanna go i jumped! most powerful blues singer in history!!! BOY HAD LUNGS!
unfortunately he only lived 3 more years from this performance.
The Master !
Espectacular!!!!!!
Freddie King was a gift to this world albeit a short-lived one, reason enough to cherish every document of his short presence, thanks for posting.
Geniaaal!! Enormeee!! El bajista Benny Turner es hermano de Freddie King.
Absolute masterpiece
Possibly the most powerful voice in history.
Great stuff!
Freddie King is a true powerhouse.. his bends and his sustain on those bends are epic. Gotta see the videos from the 60s on the show the beat. never knew a big body Gibson could wail like that.
Excelencia es esto Dani.
Gracias por el video! Lo ví a Deacon Jones parado arriba del Hammond en Obras agradeciendo al cielo, tocando con Pappo los temas de Freddie. Inolvidable
Que grandes es el Papo el Eric Clapton Hispano.
The Best
man was a beast live damm
Tenga su like buen hombre
Freddie can sing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can say that AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN X 1000.👍🙏👑👑👑
I remember when a friend told me about Freddie King dying what a shame, his music is pure.
The best!
What a magnificent Bluesman, Freddie King was . . and what a smokin' hot band backing him up!! Thanks for posting this. After watching countless Freddie King videos on CZcams, I saved up and bought myself a Gibson ES-355 in red!!.
Pues cuantos Reyes tiene el Blues!!!!
It was good to hear Freddy's solos even if we don't get to see them.
GREAT !!!

Deacon Jones on the Hammond B3.

The drummer's name is Charles "Sugar Boy" Meyers, not Louis Mayers.
Minuto 13, DESCONFÍO de Pappo's Blues...
I saw him with Grand Funk. What a brilliant opener. He was incredible. Unfortunately his diet was Bloody Mary's and it eventually killed him. What a talented musician. He could lite up a crowd. He was amazing live. That's the only way he could play. Just kill the crowd. He put every other King to shame.
Specfuckingtacular
Feddie starts singing even before straps on guitar lol
6:28 is where to go....
@2:40 "Sweet Home Chicago"
After my father, spiritual advisor, lawyer, accountant, and confidant ABBA,the alpha and Omega...my favorite king is Freddie,B.B.just so I know has a strong voice like Freddie, have Friends who did roadie work for both and said neither of them needed Mike's and i said.u exaggerating, dude only for the purpose of recording....but could have literally pulled it off....frikin amazing....many would say B.B. was the class of the 3 kings. Lest we forget the incomparable Albert king...in Fact I must say I cannot pickAlbert over Freddie and Vice versa, but for my money ..... u cant go wrong w any of these Kings...
But I Guess that Texas Cannonball...is living in the palace.of the king.
.must be just west of.austin
I have to confer with my favorite minister musician,Willie Nelson, who happens to also be a Texan..Lol
B
This shit is jamming extra hard. Freddie played like a rock guitarist, and he sang better than both BB and Albert in my opinion. He’s also a fellow Texan so I’m biased lol! Also this band is fire!!!🔥✊🏾
Or I mean John may all. And the bluesbreakers
What is the name of last song, dedicated to audiance?
Heya! Anyone know the name of the last song that plays along with the credits?
Look On Yonders Wall
K bien suena el hammond?
Greatest backing band ever🙏❤️
Bluss
Black music. Black musicians. How I miss those days! Without the 3 Kings, Muddy, Howlin', Hendrix et al we'd have nothing at all. Just white kids singing about curtains.
Brilliant comment 😂
Freddie King (aka) "The Texas Cannonball" was one of the most influencial guitar player to the british blues guitarists of the sixties like Mick Taylor,Eric Clapton and Pete Green and many others around the world.
