    this is inspiring! one question though (at the risk of asking your to ruin your newly repaired frame - Have you done a joint and cut it on the bias to show the thickness of the filler and the integrity of the weld? Regardless, this is a really nice job... especially the use of a solvent wipe to 'unify' the repair. Thanks again!

    I have a plastic door and a frame. When I played with the dog I fell backwards and the door lock latch took a piece of plastic frame out. So now door can be just pushed open, would be nice to know how to fix that

    Interesting. I'm a window and door fitter, could the torch weld dpm? Many of the flush threshold patio doors I fit require a purpose made damp tray up the back on the inside and overlapped in the corners as the doors breach damp course.
    If it was possible to weld the dpm sheets in the corners that would be belt and braces.. thanks

      Hi biggest dickus, I've never tried welding dpm, it's a bit thin and the heat would probably burn through it pretty quickly, you could try turning the heat down low maybe that would work

      Hi thanks for for such a quick reply, can you tell me the ideal temperature for welding pvc as I understand that to high just burns the plastic? As you can see I'm 1st time thinking of repairing! 👍

    • @allkraftdesign6120
      @allkraftdesign6120  Před 9 měsíci

      Hi, no probs! It's around 280°C, you can test your temperature on the end of a stick of filler rod, if the rod burns rapid turn the temperature down a bit, you should be able to hold the heat gun on the rod for a couple of seconds before it starts to go brown, hope that's helpful!

    Will this work on North American pvc windows. The video shows a upvc profile?

    • @allkraftdesign6120
      @allkraftdesign6120  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi👋 Yes will definitely work, if the windows are PVC material they will be weldable, the U stands for un-plasticized, meaning the PVC is solid and not flexible. Hope that's helpful! Message if you need anymore info. Thanks

      Do you know if the weld sticks are available in custom colors. Would they blend to match a manufacturers specific white?

    • @allkraftdesign6120
      @allkraftdesign6120  Před 4 měsíci

      @dgrouche1676 hi, yes there is various colours of welding rod's, I'm not sure about specific shades of a colour. The welding rod from the video wasn't a perfect match but after wiping over with the PVC Solvent it seemed to blend in quite well, if it was possible to get some scrap window frame you can cut a small strip off and weld it in the same way.
