Take anything you want and put a string on it - David Lindley will take it and play wonderful music on it. This man is a miracle with overwhelming musicianship
@@nlinscott1548 I think, he knows that music is international .... and he would be happy to see, when music brings women and men of lots of nations nearer together in peace .... have a nice day ....
No, Lindley and Browne singing and playing Take it easy by Jackson Browne. Glenn Frey admited himself several times that he hadn't do a lot on this song, it was almost finished when he started working on it ;)
I had the pleasure of shaking hands with David Lindley in Grants Pass Oregon after he had opened for 'Hot Tuna' one evening a few years back. I had been mesmerized by his solo performance on slide guitars so when I caught him in the lobby during intermission I had to tell him how much I loved his performance. David was very cordial and seemed genuinely touched by the praise I was giving. I had been just starting on slide guitar myself and wish that I had the guts to ask him questions about it, but backed off and gave him the 'space' he probably preferred.... Nice guy!
Sounds like the Irish version.I simply love these two musicians together.Brings me back to being 16. "Those were the days my friends,we thought they would never end."
I remember the first time I ever heard this wonderful song. It made me feel so good, I believed we could almost make a better world. 'Course, I grew up and learned better, but I never lost my love for this music. Thank you Jackson Browne and David Lindley.
My favorite artist since I was 15. 60-70’s music was the best. Lyrics have never compared since. Lots of good artists in the 80’s but commercialism emerged and the studios began to control the talent of the person creating.
David Lindley rocks. He can play everything / anything with strings... His look at Jackson, at 4:50, telling with his eyes: I'm tempting you to follow the easy refrain, c'mon... or what do you plan to do? And then, at 5:24 near the end, he wants to continue; of course, he listens to the several final chords from Jacson but he is ignoring them, in fun... Saw them play here in Madrid (Spain) circa 2006, I guess. What a performance...!
Nice tune - the violin solo takes this piece to a totally different level - "as for man, his days are like grass- he blooms like a flower of the field; when the wind passes over, it vanishes, and its place remembers it no more." Psalm 103 - Requiem aeternam dona eis Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him. +RIP David Lindley -
First heard this song, circa March, 1972, Mr. Browne opening for Joni Mitchell at D.A.R. Constitution Hall in D.C. He played the entire Saturate Before Using album, alone, on acoustic and piano. Surprised the hell out of me to hear the Eagles version on the radio that summer.
I've never been a fan of J Brown, but he has great tastes in musicians and Lindley is the best. So sad he is no longer with us but his loss is making find all the times he made music better.
I lived in best of times for human kind. The best music the best of friends of food and clothing and housing and kindness and empathy and caring and original music and of ABSOLUTE TRUTHS. I am a lucky person.
Is a fiddle and a violin the same thing? The answer is a surprising “no.” A violin and a fiddle are the same four-stringed instrument, generally played with a bow, strummed, or plucked. They are identical in their physical appearance. ... The fiddle, in contrast, is associated with a wide variety of music styles including Cajun, bluegrass, folk, and country.
So hoping you will come back to the UK some day. Isle of Wight festival would be your ideal...... It is a legendary festival which mixes classics with new vibes .
Every time I go through Winslow, I stop and get out and stand on that corner. They've got statues of Browne and Frey and a flatbed Ford parked on the street.
David Lindley is a virtuoso in every sense of the word. He will be sorely missed. RIP!
Mr. Dave on fiddle! R.I.P. to the Polyester Prince of Strings. We're all individuals, but he was truly one of a kind!
David Lindley ....what a talent ......songwriter and musician ...unsung hero !
Dave is a master of strings.Jackson knows who to have as a back up.
Jackson has always had great instincts about whom he wants on his team.
What an astonishing talent-a wizard on anything with strings. R.I.P. David Lindley.

Gawd, I was so in love with Jackson Browne!! First time I saw him was in Mobile Alabama, and I was pregnant with my daughter.. she is now 42.

Lindley and Browne singing and playing Take it easy by the Eagle, simply marvellous and poignant. Two great artists.

Love Hot Tuna!
nice story
Thank goodness we can still hear a song like this - songs that have meaning and melody. I have to confess I hear very little in today's 2020 music.
Dude, I'm a time traveler, and I can tell you it only gets worse!
Love the AMERICANA version they play here!!! Excellent!
Love Jackson with David…it just fits so well…

If David Lindley was my friend and I made a living out of music I'd make damned sure we remain friends.
Amazing that the backing is just one guitar and one fiddle.
Brilliant. He is loving it and so am I.
Saw Jackson Solo at the hockstine music hall in Rochester NY. 3 or 400 people ,very intimate. That was about 25 years ago. A lifetime.

He continues to write awesome songs - and he's awesome - thankful for that...
I listen to a Jackson Browne record every week....
Have 9 of them on Vinyl
God they both have such incredible pitch
Saw Jackson with Lindley, but David was playing steel guitar that night, and it was amazing.
Two acoustic string instruments together on this song makes it soooo much more compelling.
Wonderful! Demonstrating beautifully why David Lindley's musicianship complemented Jackson Browne's songsmithing so brilliantly.
This version gives more emotion to the original
Any version of THIS tune is good. One of the very best songs ever.
David and Jackson saw them together ya buddy the Best
First song that I learned how to play. 1975. Thanks Jackson and Glen.

Karl D'Rocco Gallant the difference between a fiddle and violin is a violin has strings and a fiddle has strangs.. 😂
