We are Intermundia, two composers of epic trailer music and film music, who decided to take this astonishing genre on stage and adapt it for a small "band", not a big orchestra. We, therefore, decided to test our idea and design a show for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the biggest arts festival in the world. In the 2019 edition, we performed every night our "epic film music concert", where we played some of the greatest film soundtracks and epic music hits, reworked by us and adapted for a three-person band. We had the honour to play together with the amazing violinist Lucia La Rezza (this is her channel: / 9metalpawa9 , while we alternated on keyboards, drums, synths and guitar.
Our little experiment went better than expected. During the 16 concerts we played every night at the Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh, we had a total of over 2,000 people coming to see it. And the feedbacks were mostly very positive. Of course, many things still have to improve. We are currently working on a better version of the show, that we will present at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2020.
Among the most loved songs we played in the show, certainly the Two Steps From Hell live medley has been one of the most appreciated. We had to perform it having the original songs as backing tracks, as unfortunately, we did not have the stems of the tracks. On top of that, we performed original melodies and harmonies, plus our own variations, with guitar, violin, drums and a synth emulating a horn. We then decided to join the two tracks in this medley.
