oo ABOUT NICK MASON AND THE SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS oo
Nick Mason, Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Lee Harris and Dom Beken, aka Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets, came together with the simple idea of playing some early Pink Floyd - the songs pre ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ - that had not been given a live outing for decades! This was the first time Nick had played live since Live 8 in 2005! “Why don’t we get a rehearsal room and play some things and see how we feel about it?” Nick suggested...
A few months later, on Sunday 20 May 2018, Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets took Pink Floyd’s drummer back to the clubs for the first time since 1967 - Dingwalls in Camden, London. The performance was met with huge adulation across the board**.
Three nights at the Half Moon in Putney followed that same week before announcing a theatre tour through the UK, North America and Europe from September, and they promptly sold out! A handful of extra UK shows were announced for April and May 2019, including two nights at The Roundhouse - the venue where Pink Floyd first played on 15 October 1966, at the International Times launch party.

Thank you Mr.Mason and Band. We enjoyed the Buffalo concert Oct. 9, 2022. Seems that the band chose not to end on a dramatic song by adding Bike to the final encore. Is it because that song is really good, or what we really wanted to hear, a peaen to Syd, or just wanting to leave the audience with something not so serious in these rather serious and unfriendly times globally, socially, environmentally ?

Nick Mason makes drumming looks easy but it is not...Nick is and always has been one of the most underrated drummers in rock, there is no other drummer like him. His timing is impeccable and his creative style made Pink Floyd what they were. What he is doing now with "Saucerful of Secrets" is just totally amazing, and Roger thinks so too. Fantastic. All these guys in the band are just wonderful too. Bloody fantastic!

That pause after the question asking if they want to reunite with Roger on stage again was fucking hilarious-you can literally see them going "........"

The question wasn’t about reuniting it was “what are the band’s thoughts on Roger joining the band for a song in New York City?” and we were all expecting Nick to answer, which he eventually did, because he had the great story about Roger leaving his phone in the cab and not being able to contact him to let us know he was coming.

I wish you all would come to the US again, but perhaps the early music isn't quite as popular here as it is across the pond. Stay healthy, everyone.

    "A blue one"
    Very specific.

in the 70s I listened to "A NICE PAIR" on a mono record player.
I couldn't connect this record player to the power grid because every time I did it it turned into a radio because of a long wave transmitter in the area so I had to run it on batteries.
on a French radio station there was an April Fools special broadcast in the form of a live report on two UFOs in the south of France.
so between "A NICE PAIR" and this April Fool's report on the radio I was inspired to write a little science fiction short story while listening and re-listening "SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS".
the PINK FLOYD-SCIENCE FICTION association as far as I'm concerned comes from "ASTRONOMY DOMINE" and "INTERSTELLAR OVERDRIVE" so I listened to PINK FLOYD a lot and read a lot of SCIENCE FICTION.
then back to reality with "WISH YOU WERE HERE", "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON" and all that will follow.
we will never finish describing the dark side of mankind.

It is so hard to hear how 5, then 4 people, that made some of the greatest music of all time, and literally defined an era of some of the moat epic songs. How they really didn't seem to get along after the band really got going. Its quite sad . I know they speak to each other. But, kinda heart breaking. I really wish they'd put it all aside. And do 5 to 6 shows over the next yr or two, and give those who haven't been a chance to experience the real thing.b

I think Nick and Roger are friends because they share the same sarcasm. They are probably never fighting, it's sarcasm.
