    I did the free trial of MM. It is a great tool, but the load times put a damper on the user experience. just my opinion.

    NBA is a 3point contest, load management,no D,no passion. If players don’t care about the league, why care about their cards?

    Since when was the sports card market hot? I thought it’s been down for some time now?

    • @officialghetty
      @officialghetty Před 3 měsíci +5

      It’s not hot. There are always 1% of cards that may have a short bump up in value at any given time but nothing significant rly.

      I've had more luck selling Monsters in my Pocket than Sports Cards. People are frightened to pay big money for cards. It's too risky.

    Great episode, thanks. Glad to hear the SCI 500 gets reviewed and updated each year and that you retain previous versions for historical reference. Very satisfied with MM!

    I ALWAYS buy my baseball cards in October-December. Now is the time to sit back and count the money. Acuna and Soto were so cheap in October/November

      @@jcbuckeye already sold the Soto’s for 80-130% profits after he was traded. Held those cards for less than 60 days. The Acuna’s are longer term plays but all of them are up. Not huge money but several grand in profit off the Soto’s and in the green on the Acuna’s. Also up on my Caminero and Celesten investments as well, but not ready to sell those yet. Any other questions. Let me know

    hey jeff.. i find marketcaps and sports cards very interesting... ive been thinking about how marketcaps correlate to Low Pop cards and Numbered cards. obviously the marketcaps cant be compared to a card that has a population of 100,000 and a high price point such as say that legendary ken griffey jr card.
    there is probably a multiplier that would apply or a different card to compare to and was just wondering if you had any thoughts on this?
    anyways love the videos and happy collecting!

    Is the index weighted equally % wise across all cards, or are the more expensive cards in the index weighted higher since they are valued more ?

    also, in regards to football is the panini release cycle. I'd be really curious on that compared to the chart.

    Thank you for giving us news worth listening to. One recommendation I liked the studio setup more. Kinda awkward watching when the store is having an slow day and theres only one shopper. Our attention is drawn towards them as they pick their noses or look at their phones to do whatever. Studio made us feel like it was a production and 'professional show' ; the new setup makes it feel like your another guy filming in a card shop

    When the Bedard YG hit I'd wager hockey sees a significant uptick and smashes total sales from the same period of time from last year.

    I find it interesting that the cratering of that sports card index has a relationship to when student loan payments resumed. Is this a structural problem in the industry?

    I have a strategy that works amazing . I wait until I have absolute certainty that a card/player has peaked, and buy in and then sell in the offseason .

    I think a lot of the issues with the basketball market is Panini Itself. Their outrageous hobby prices, lack of quality hits in their retail formats, and their atrocious redemption programs and panini points in loo of a hit hurt the market as a whole. Even older basketball products. I got completely out of the basketball and football markets bc of Panini

    • @jcbuckeye
      @jcbuckeye Před 3 měsíci

      If panini was smart they would put just a few 1 of 1s in retail boxes and advertise it. These Degenerate gamblers would eat that up.

    Hey there Geoff, my apology if me asking you if by any chance there was a way to send you some pics of a couple of cards I have. I'm in a bit of financially struggle and wanted to sell some of my cards, but I really don't know if they're valuable or even if collectors are interested in purchasing any. Please if by any chance you get to read this , please if its not a problem to ask for some advice. Thank You.
