Also one of my favorite country songs. Thank you Don Schlitz for writing it.
One of the first songs I ever was conscious of hearing as a child - my pop bought me a compilation album of country hits and Schlitz's version of this was on it. Loved it. Kenny R's is great version too, but Don's hits the mark.
If I never did anything in my life other than write 'The Gambler', I think that's ok.
