As for the bullet physics in dayz I believe its a good balance of realism and rng for a game, but a game like dayz probably shouldn't have any rng involved in the only real skill based part of the game. The chronic weapon sway is one thing but I dont mind that but that alongside RnG after firing might be a bit much, still the game is consistent enough. Its miles more 'real' then most shooters.
as someone who sucks at pvp and is forced to rely on big brain plays to win, your videos are a godsend. not only are your lessons the most comprehensive I’ve ever seen for day z (like legit, you actually give more information that is reliable than the dayz wiki AND the fan made wikis combined) but you add in just the right amount of hummer to avoid making it seem like a college lecture you’d listen to to help you sleep at night while also keeping it to the point so theres no “filler” content.

Bullets like to skip along walls in real life, a lot of police and military are trained to stay 1 or more arm length off hard walls. Deflection angles usually don't come off the walls too much but the further they travel after deflection the further it parts away from the wall.

Would love a "sniping" guide, due to how some of the times rounds feel as if they reach lets say 500 meters instantly then other times feels like its a century before it hits.
I would be extremely happy too see them tweack with the ballistics slightlly,like instead of a shotgun now just compeltly destroying a plate carrier (with buckshot,or slug) maybe itll create alot of shock damage and itll knock the player out instead.

I think the only unrealistic aspect is the lack of deflection off terrain. Bullets fired at a lowish angle will certainly bounce off of hard ground and with enough reliability that combat training often advises you to underestimate range so the bullet will bounce rather than overestimate (going over the enemies head).
I thought IRL that a ricocheting bullet was more likely to whiz along the wall, someone else who is much more knowledgeable please chime in. (random tidbit of info I recall that I can't guarantee the accuracy of at all)
To be the most realistic, all defection statistics should be based on pentation which should based on velocity. Secondly, defection damage should be the direct opposite of defection chance; meaning the higher the defection chance the lower the defection damage Considering these facts, to be most realistic, the following should be patched in. #1: 22. caliber should have the highest defection chance but the lowest defection damage. #2: Buckshot should have the second highest defection in the game, and higher deflection. All things considered if these two calibers were patched as described, buckshot would be hands down the best considering multiple pellets, deflection chance, and defection damage. It would really change a lot of peoples ideas on shotguns, and would be complained about by many as to O.P.

It's a slow round but at close range it should be very powerful and if my memory serves me correct previous patches (before v1.0) it was significantly more powerful/realistic. Curious what you think.
Good question. the ump is worthless since 1.1 or 1.2, it takes like 5 clean chest shots on an unprotected player up close, i've even seen people survive a headshot from 25-30m with No helmet
9mm too is absolute trash. Against a press-vest or plate carrier they should be bad of course, but against civilian clothing 45 acp should punch a big hole through them.
I think they will certainly balance weapons soonish. The 45 doing the same damage as 1 pellet of buckshot is a meme. Also the gap between .357 and .45 tells us they are seriously overlooking weapon balance. I'm hoping for the balance in 1.10.

Slugs and buckshot don't deflect because their all lead projectiles, instead of bouncing they squish like pancakes. All the other bullets in game have copper jackets over the lead core that keeps them together and allows for deflection.
7:11, What kind of a backwards protractor is that? Every protractor I've ever seen starts with 0 at each end, then culminates at 90 degrees when perpendicular. 90 degrees is a straight on perpendicular shot; 0 degrees would be a total miss as the bullet would be parallel to the surface.

Buck shot has a extremlly high chance of "bouncing" off target or ricocheting,its not fun when it happens just from my experience
