Just watched this as an introduction to IEC61850. Really interesting and well presented, thank you!
The only thing I am not sure of is why there is a limitation of 15 nodes on an HSR ring?

I believe this is due to the use of ptp protocol. In order to ensure the accuracy of the precision timing met the standard, the end devices have to be within 16 nodes from the master clock.
