I see a lot of comments saying that they didn’t compare themselves to barbies when they were younger but I definitely did.
Growing up dealing with weight issues, I definitely compared myself to barbies thinking “that’s what I’m supposed to be”. It wasn’t only barbies, I was like that with actresses, cartoon characters, all of the above. I’m just putting this out there that if you didn’t deal with that, maybe other people did.
I have weight issues too but I never really did but I'm glad you didnt act on feeling insecure because of a doll 💜

I know I'm late, but one of the saddest things to me is the past/present/future uproar that always occurs every time a "different" Barbie comes onto the market. Different ethnic/race Barbies have always made racist people upset. So have the curvy Barbies that don't have the (humanly unattainable) hour-glass slender figure. It's crazy to me that some people justify their hateful reasonings for wanting JUST a white, skinny, blond-haired, and blue-eyed female doll because "Historically, that's how Barbie looked." Realistically, there isn't a single person on earth that has a Barbie or Ken body. We need Barbies for every skin color, ethnicity, weight, etc.

The fact that you said "photoshop artist" and not "graphic artist" or "graphic designer" lets me know you don't know anything about the field. They did very well for this sort of project and I saw them using some photoshop tools that only well trained/practiced artists know about.

Fun stories: when I was about 7 my mom took me to a museum that showed old torture devices from the Middle Ages. I was so inspired that I built a stretching machine and guillotine. I would also hang them I HUNG THEM.
