- Ron Reagan, the “unabashed atheist, not afraid of burning in hell,” who kindly recorded a commercial for FFRF, is the liberal son of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. He dropped out of Yale to become a ballet dancer, joining Joffrey Ballet Company.

I joined FFRF after seeing Ron Reagan's ad. I was raised a conservative Christian, and my conversion to atheism was a long, slow process. I was well over 50 before I really embraced being an atheist. It feels good to live in reality, but lonely, as most of my family clings to religion. I appreciate people, like Ron Reagan, who have the bravery to stand up and own it.
I had a lot of time to read the text. I was going to be the best at defending it and I had a few years to study. I read 4 books multiple times. Bible Torah Quran Wiccans bible😊 Im out at 38yrs old. & im from the belt ❤

Tribalism, xenophobia, misogyny and so many other such behaviors *used to* be evolutionarily advantageous, but are now threatening our existence. Religion *used to* be good for humanity, but now endangers the entire world.
you don't have to be an Atheist to wish for separation of CHURCH & State....Where I grew up, that was taught in school...
I didn't know much about Ron Reagan before this vid but he's now on my thoughtful, good guy list.
How ironic that a country that claims to have separation of Church and State...........isn't.

Oh the irony... President Reagan was one of the architects of the family values/ religious right movement that got us into this mess today.

What bothers me is when a religious person tells me that it was God's plan for my child to be molested and that there was nothing that he could do things have to happen.

I've called my wife an apatheist for years. Most scientists are this, too. Glad he used this term. I have huge respect for these people. I, myself, can't leave the subject alone.
I have mad respect for this guy because even though he was indoctrinated in a Christian family he was able to think for himself

My mother in law is very religious, but a very unpleasant person. I believe she goes to church because they feel like they have to be nice to her there.

I think anyone has the right to speak their mind. I agree as someone who struggles with religion ideology that the government should stay out of religion 100%. Because I dont think any religion should be pushed on anyone as it would be unfair to the opposing religion. But I do find that Ron had a disrespectful approach in some ways. Almost like he's a little to proud to be an atheist. Again, I understand his approach as he deems it nessaseary to get his point across and to lean in on this foundation. But it seems a little inappropriate in some ways. I dont know, just my opinions. But like he states, the government isn't burning people at the stake for their religious beliefs.

Of course we all have free speech and are entitled to exercise it, but what is the point of mocking each other, exemplified here by Ron's belittling and trashing religious people? Besides just being mean-spirited, does he really think this is going to win him converts among them? If you are going to make an argument against religion or for religion - make it, and avoid the nastiness, of which we already have far too much in society.

Well we all start out as atheists, and it doesn't really appear that he ever had been a theist, so maybe he just avoided getting indoctrinated and kept his logic and reasoning in him.
