How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a CZcams channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.
Whew. Glad you are back to a well bred herd. It hurt to hear the disappointment in your voice last year. Glad all is well again.
Ryan,,,, listen. You’re a good kid and I hate to see anyone fail. You can not go cheap on a bull. And 40 cows is a lot to cover for one bull. That’s part of the reason they are bred so far apart. If you want a uniform set,,, and that’s where the money is,,, spend the money, buy two bulls. Not from the sale barn. But from someone reputable. It WILL pay off.Promise you.
I love the mad dash of everyone when the cattle finally are going thru the gate
38 out of 41 is damn fine! Glad to hear it Ryan!
I know you're glad all of that is over with. That's a chore dealing with all that's involved.
All of you take care and stay warm.
Dang, your vet is very efficient at preg checks! Bet you're glad to have this job in the rear-view mirror.
I liked the camera angle you had in the shed. Gave a good overlook of everything going on. Glad the bull worked out
Thank you for listing the vaccines you use in the video. I’ve been trying to figure out what to use, so that’s a big help.
Poor critters lolol! They probably know the vet's vehicle very well!!! Lolol
Nice to see your bull doing his job , great to see the cows bred , not like a year ago , great awesome video Ryan
The portable corral looks like it is a great option . Good job to get done early in the year.
Great video !! Fellers, the Good Lord made horses to herd cattle . Four legs work better than two .
Sweet, good news! Thanks for the update!
Glad to see another great video. Sounds like this year will be a good year for you and the calves.
Glad your cows are almost all bred vs last year's disaster. Ever thought about getting another bull so the other bull doesn't have so much pressure on him to get everything bred and a second bull will get the ones the first one missed and they aren't all spread out. And have you ever looked into a Arrowquip system they make working cattle into a one person operation or you and Hannah and it was cool to see her out helping with the operation and calves.
Will you do a video on checking fence this year if so can you show us that huge sink hole you tell us about.
Great job Everybody, very well organised👌👍🙂
awsome video ryan thumbs up and sharred
Very smooth operation. Made me tired just watching it
Hey Ryan!! Glad the new bull is doing his job. How long did it take to run the cattle thru?
I got 18 on the ground now i bought a high dollar bull it pays off .
Glad that your happy with the out come hope all is well
What is your thoughts on this High Farm price oil. And fertilizer cost for this year
Farm price oil?
good job boys good video put another bull yours to help out to get them bread quicker and together
Looks like your bull does a nice job😉👍 it's always great to have things like that done👍😁
Good video👍
How you going Ryan. Good that the bull is performing well.
Are you using 2 bulls now cause 41 cows is a lot for 1 angus bull to breed
Great video really enjoyed it.
Great video Ryan congrats on the cows
Awesome video
Supper time viewing fantastic 👌 😀 hello from Scotland. Great work on the dare I say spring time🤔🤫 just never mind the snow😅. Happy cattle though. Stay safe 🏴
Good stuff
What's the reason for making steers? Do they put on weight faster or something?
They behave more calmly. Less dangerous.
Basics are they spend their time focused on eating and growing, instead of fighting and #&$+ing...
How many cow and caffs do you have all together. On are farm we have about 180 some were around there
Equipment tour?
Congrats on the coming calves.dont talk about being old yet you kid.i an 52 so you are young yet as I am getting older
I find so odd you guys have a tub but not your own squeeze. Everyone I knew that had cattle growing up had 2, 1 built into there pen in the yard and one to take out to pasture if they had cow that needed meds. But they all had 160-320 acre pasture's and not may cows on it because lack of rain.
👍👏🇺🇸
What is a cattle loan payment?
Same thing as your car or house payment. Money borrowed from a financial institution to purchase something you cant pay cash for.
Sooo...time lapse, what did you do with the rest of your morning?? LOL
Ryan why don’t you use your truck during the winter #howfarmswork #therestofthestory
