- Jeep JT Transfer Case Skid Plate
Made out of 3/16" plate for serious protection, Some of the factory JT skid plate is more than adequate to do the job, but the transfer case was left exposed and vulnerable from the factory. Weight is 25# This add-on skid plate solves the problem, and offers up some affordable yet serious protection for your 2020 and up Jeep Gladiator! Easy install and uses factory bolts and no drilling required.

I like how you explain your installation process on your JT. I'm starting my own M.O.R.E. skid plate installs today. I, too, have to work alone on this one, as I do on many of my installs. I'm 63 years old, and although my installations have challenged me a great deal more than someone half my age I can honestly say I enjoy it. Thank you for your experience and know how videos. They've helped immensely.
Glad the video helped. If you have a jack stand or 2 laying around, they could be used and a towel to stop it from getting scratched. It is a fun project and although I am not as old, I definitely have noticed my slowing down through the 15 years of doing jeep projects. Be safe doing it and enjoy them.
👍
Did you ever drill that third hole in the brace?
Great Video BTW.
Honestly I forgot about it until you just mentioned it, lol. I cans ay that I have been on a lot of rocks and never ran into an issue though. I actually got high centered last weekend and had to completely spin on it and it held up just fine. Does have a large U shape gouge in it though.
@@ajphillipsjeeps good to know. I started my Install of the oil/Trans and Transfer case plates today. Instructions are not the best and I noticed Im replacing Driver Side bolts where others used the existing bolts. Also the washers are to big for the bolt protector things which is very odd.
@idrvplanes which engine do you have? We have done a 3.6 jL, JT and 2.0 JL and all were different.
@@ajphillipsjeeps Have the 3.6 etorq. with the auto trans.
@@idrvplanes wonder if the etourqe changes the bolts up
