@davidgore5719 if you were to watch the video, I don't hook up the lower light separate. I spliced it in to only be on when the switch is in the on position since it is under the hood and being lite all the time is not needed. It does sound like the switch light might be bad.

Never never had an issue with it, but also sold it a few years ago. I wonder if there are other videos out now, interested in seeing the part. I put this up to help others cause I could not find instructions and basically had to figure it out myself.

@ajphillipsjeeps it's a super dumb design. You can get lucky and get jam nut to catch enough on the arm threads to not rattle, but it's a pure fluke. You literally have to destroy the knob to get to the nut.

@@darrens325 you are talking about the top of the shifter where you grab to shift. That is a terrible design. I thought you were saying at the base where I was working.

Yep, kind surprised they don't offer 2 sets and even some longer setups for people running the pumps in the cabs.

Been on for years and have not had an issue with frequent offroading. Didn't know oem was 10.6. I believe they now include longer bolts though.

Did you make sure to prep both the window and the metal. It might need to be completely cleaned and have no glue left on it.

@@ajphillipsjeeps I figured it out! The metal circle comes off the mirror (which I didn’t know). The way I was doing it the mirror was to heavy for the glue to set but I got it back on!

@olivia.hill102 glad you got it. I thought it was already separated and not all ad 1 while gluing.

If you watch the 3rd video, I do install a small solar battery tender to keep the battery topped off. It is also plugged into the 7 pin so while driving with it in tow, it is charging and the refrigerator is running off the jeep. I had thought about adding a larger panel on the top / side but honestly where we camp on the east coast is heavily covered with trees so solar there won't do much. We have been using the electrical setup for years on other rigs and never had an issue but still thinking about adding a 2nd battery, probably where the water can tray is.

@ajphillipsjeeps Will have to check out your other videos for sure. I'm curious how it all turned out. I'm thinking about making mine with a pop-up roof top so you can stand in it, with a shelf to sleep on. Similar to an alucab setup.

Yep, they are designed for marine use and outdoor stuff so a lot of people don't thinknabout them in dry environments.

That I'm not sure of. It obviously was designed for seadoo and the angles of one, but if the yamaha was anywhere close I guess it could. Does Yamaha not make one for their skies?

I was a afraid I was a little short and knew I was mounting stuff in certain spots so I kinda tried to spray the areas I knew needed done. I had extra bottles but would have liked to have sprayed at least one or 2 more bottles, but didn't want to order another 4 pack.

No, it does not have constant, but if you have the Aux buttons there is a full time power there just about 6 inches away. For full time power either have to run to battery or tap into a fuse.

Honestly I would have to check. I bought the one on the left for me to ride with my son, and he was given the one on the right by a friend cause it was laying around and we threw some new wheels and bearings on it.

I threw the cover away since it was rotted out and the bows I still have and will be selling once I finish the outer shell. I have been delayed by a few months due to work issues, but hopping to get it done in the next few months.

I have a set on my JT my wife's JL and a friend's JT and none of us have had any issues and were all put on around the same time.

@@ajphillipsjeeps any gaps? I saw a video where someone added black silicone around the edges to fill in gaps that were left behind

@ErnieB573 nope, no gaps but you have to make sure and line it up right. During test fitting I did notice if it's not snug and in the right place it wouldn't lay down correctly.

I think I got lucky at the time, most were going foe around that. Definitely a lot people and businesses bidding on them currently.

Not sure, honestly it was the OEM setup and I never followed it to the block. We have also traded this jeep in since then and the newer ones don't come with it.

That is correct, I am not using the jeep factory fuse or fuse taps. I did install a fuse at the battery where it plugs in before running the wire to the switch. You always want a fuse as close to the power source incase a wire goes bad or something grounds that it stops power flow.

The inline fuse you bought how much amp (I think that’s the term) is it rated? I’m using your video as a guide for my JL single switch install.

@ericschmidt1987 I will have to look at what size I used, but you do not need a lot of amps since it is essentially only giving power to the switch light and triggering the relay which carries the high amps. A 5 or 10 should be fine but I will try to remember and check today.

Yes and No, they are connected to the foot well lighting and the overhead lights push on and off. If you use the turn dial to turn the overhead lights on then yes. When we need the lights we just individually push on and off the ones we need.

I don't remember the exacts, but it was within specs on the meter that my friend had. I do remember it being a little bit of a pain being right on the line and not getting as good as he would have liked, but it has been there for almost 4 years and works still.

So I will start with some things changes through the years but yes when I hit unlock on the remote or open the door, they come on. I also have it on the switch. Make sure you connected to the right wire since one is only when using the dimmer switch, (which is not the entry light) the other is the entry light which on early years was just on/off and somewhere in the 22's I think it became dimming while turning on and off. @@ajphillipsjeeps Yes, I have seen that video and read through the comments. Mine is '21, so the change in the dimming circuit must have happened at least starting '21 models. I am using the same tap as the Oracle SideTrack ( the dimming one from curtsey group), also connected to the reverse light (magnitude of diodes in play lol). Everything is working as expected apart from 2 things: 1. The noise from the relay (stabilizer on order) 2. When I unlock the Jeep, Sidetrack comes on, footwell lights come on, The lux dont ( I am guessing its still energizing and by the time it does, the dimming circuit switches off) I will let you know once I add the stabilizer in the circuit how its working out. Thanks again for your prompt response.

@priyol1037 when I did the wifes on the dimmer, the lux were coming on but were dim, but hers was a 23. I have also done it on an 18, but I would guess low amperage causing them to not be on. I would test with a voltmeter that its getting 12 volts and then you know the relay will help. Also forgot to ask, but are you running the white LUX without the box, just red black wire, or did you get their on off box or RGB setup cause that may require a little more.

@@ajphillipsjeeps I checked last night, the lux doesnt even come on when I unlock. I do hear a faint hum from the relay when I unlock. I will measure the volt in a couple of days and report back. In a turn of events my 12 volt died :(. When I was testing everything I believe I saw about 10v being put out by that dimming circuit. I have the Lux Monster LED - 10 of them connected to their Pro Installer for Aux switches. The entire circuit is connected to a relay - the Lux gets power from the main battery, everything else is just to energize the relay

@priyol1037 if you only had 10 volts, that would definitely be an issue to start with. I would hook a battery charger on while working with it. If you also have 10 lights vs the 8 that I have, it would be pulling additional amps that could cause part of it. The other thing is the monster lux might not be able to handle a diming feature and needs the full 12 volts and higher amps Tham the normal ones. The last is I am not as familar with their setup but I would believe 12 volt input should trigger their relay to power them which could be going back to the less than 12 volt issue. Also remember a battery is actually 12.6 when full so actually only getting 12 is already low which is also where a charger on it while testing helps.

I have a plan laid out, been working with my welder but our schedules have not lined up. I am hoping un the next month or two we can knock it out. We are building a top and using existing bolt holes.

Only concern is copper is normally weaker, but if you have it laying around might be worth trying.
