You keep destroying these activities. Keep up the great work!
Yeah not a big fan of mounding up your spoil all around your pit. Tends to give your position away if not very well cammed up.
But you did well using the US style ET to dig that 👍👍
You're a year older. I'm nowhere near on par with you. Body is wrecked now. But man you got this.
Awesome job corp. lot of work, I don’t know how well this work in western jersey where I live, 6-8 Inch down all solid shale
It isn't Sunday without Corporals corner
Every single Sunday.
Idk.. It's sunday where I'm at.. Even without cc.
I agree
Monday morning for me.
AGREED!!!!🫡🫡🫡🫡
Human excavator! Hardest working guy on CZcams! Much respect!
I was a medic in the Air Force working mostly in the Emergency Room and we had a saying to assure our patients-- "Don't worry, it'll stop hurting when the pain goes away." Never seemed to work though.
Just further proof ...the Corporal IS the man. I do live in deep East Texas, it was a flat 100 degrees last night at 8pm when feeding my horses and no, ya never 'get used to it, just stay hydrated and push on. You still have what it takes if it comes down to it, don't kid yourself. Your knowledge and expertise is priceless, no matter the age. So, keep 'em coming cause everyday there is somebody new watching going "WOW, check this guy out." To most all of us out here we see, you are the real. Kudos... AF 🙂
I love the fact that you made a Platoon reference, a Three Amigos reference, AND a Big Trouble in Little China Reference. I love this channel.
someone got it
Thank you for going through incredible lengths to show us really high quality videos. It is not just the craftsmanship, but your philosophy that makes this a must watch channel for so many people.
Awesome AF, but dude, I am 62. It hurt just watching you dig that hole! Good stuff as always.
I’m 46 also Corporal, matter of fact next week (God willing) I’ll be 47! Here’s to making the limited days in front of us count! 🍻 👍🏾
It's not Sunday morning til Cpl. drops an overnighter!
This👍🏻
Corporals military fighting hole & ribeyes for the sweaty win!
In your previous solo overnighter, you spoke about loyalty. You talked about how if you kick a dog it will bite you. But if you pet a dog, feed it, water it, and play with it, one day it could eventually save your life. This video showed the that you will go to to entertain your followers. The information in here was tremendous. There is a specific reason your followers, including myself, are so loyal to you. You never shortchange us. Even when you are doing videos that cost us nothing to see, the effort and entertainment quality is beyond approach and superb. When you talked about your former Squad, it reminded me what I love most about those who serve. Time does not affect your feelings for these fellow soldiers. You will always be loyal to them and your willingness to share that with us was a great honor. Thank you once again
Death, taxes and the Corporal dropping a Sunday morning video. Doing it while sporting a DD t shirt, none the less. Best content on CZcams by far. Keep up the great work, we all appreciate it!
Oh to be 46 again!!!💪🏼 😁
Corporal is the hardest working man on CZcams, deserves a thumbs up just for that and another for the content!
46 years young! I salute you, Corporal! 🫡
Now that is doubling down on last week’s effort! I can relate to this as a retired 0302. You make us older Marines proud by upholding the traditions and not apologizing for what you do or why you do it. Once again you set the example for others to attempt to follow. Semper Fi!!
More sweat in training, less blood in battle. Great effort.
It is a ton of work to do this. Even with a battle buddy when you are 20 years old. Nice work. Your videos are awesome. I appreciate how much work it is to make your channel! Keep it up!
I've got no military background but I really enjoy these military meets bushcraft vids. It's different than the traditional bushcraft vids on youtube
Hardest working channel in the survival CZcams community right here
I remember digging mine in the Saudi desert during Desert Storm. Try digging a fighting hole in sandy soil...no matter what you do, the sides crumble in. We were static, so every day I had to re-dig it to clear the sand which had crumbled in the day before. Semper Fi! CWO4 USMCR [Ret] 17 February 1969 - 1 August 2004
This is what work looks like.Never mess with a dude who can dig a trench like that. The bits of philosophy come in handy too.Sheer class as always.
I believe the very first video I watched from you was your 2012 video in which you dig this same trench. I was impressed then and even more so now. You are a hard working man! Thanks for all the great videos.
"Been there, done that." Love a good dog and pony show for the brass. Make sure that mud looks polished and shined.
Ahh, the corporal shovel throw, you always know what's coming next. Great job. That's one hellava hole. Top shelf video. Thanks Corporal.
"Gotta make every day worth it" I like that.
Most people won't appreciate how much work it is for one person to dig a two-man fighting hole. Granted that, in a real combat zone, both persons don't dig at the same time, but it is much easier to dig it when you can switch out between digging and providing overwatch. Thank you for the outstanding video. It brought back some (maybe not so) happy memories. Semper Fi! EDIT: Also, I wanted to let you know that I love the items in your Etsy store. If you keep making it, I'll eventually keep buying it - haha!
Thanks for showing it how it's done, Shawn! Good to see you still have the drive to test yourself--certainly a hard day's work. Loved the picture from back in the day, totally badass!
Shawn outstanding video and way to still kick ass. Mad respect for digging that at 46. My last hole dug was 1991 in Desert Storm. Brought back some memories for sure. Keep up the outstanding AF videos🤘🤘💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸
100% Corporals sweat = 100% authentic. Thanks for doing the work to show us the way.
I don't believe I could have done that, when I was 46. Possibly, but it would have been a multi-day project, with full sized tools. You sir, are still leading the pack!
You put a lot of grunt work to make these videos every week. I appreciate the videos and the work you put in. Hope everyone else appreciates it. Keep them coming!
Sunday Funday at Corporals Corner..My God Shawn, we the same age and you do things that shock me. Keep trucking!!
Cpl Kelly - Outstanding AF. Sometimes a man needs to do something strenuous just to push his limits and prove that his best days are never behind him. Onward and upward. Much respect and keep on being legendary. 💪
Laying in a fighting hole always reminded me of my mortality. Semper Fi!!
Even if I would or could say something bad for you or your videos these hours digging that hole made me speechless and totally amazed!!! Man, you live by example. What a better way to drive haters away. RESPECT FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK & YOUR SERVICE TO YOUR COUNTRY. I am so glad that now there is a universal shipping for your goodies🎉🎉🎉
Impressive. All that with an E-tool and elbow grease. Absolute savagery!!!
Memories of Camp Geiger 1995..... Dug many of these in SOI and more than I can count over my career in the Corps.... As you said all over the world in every kind of soil imaginable. Thx for the video. Semper Fi.
Hardest working man on CZcams. Never seen anyone else wring sweat out of their tshirt like that on any other channel. Outstanding!
Glorious ribeyes, Corporal!
I cannot believe I am here watching you dig a trench feeling intense satisfaction at your project... The Army really changes how you appreciate things...
I think we all do things once in a while just to see if we still can, keeps us going. At 61, I do things just to challenge myself. Make life count!
Cpl. Kelly, Outstanding Video AF. First I want to say Thank You for your time in Service and keeping Us Safe. Also for all the Hard Work you do and sharing your time and knowledge and wisdom and experience and passing on the Craft. I am like you I have dug a few two man fighting position and one man fighting position, I'ma U.S. ArmyVet 79-86 . Great looking chow and meat fork, striker , frog gig . Thanks For Keeping It Real. Tim L.
Damn…That is a hell of a hole for a 46 year old. I am 58 and get winded digging a hole to plant a rose bush.
As always, a great presentation that brings back memories of 26 years in the Corps. Dug a regulation fighting hole last year when I was 65. Took me longer than back in the day - a LOT longer - but I got it done. Semper Fi, Marine!
I knew the grill fork was coming. I could smell it. 😊
Hey Corporal, try dry rubbing your steaks ahead of time. Just season both sides at home 8 hours before you leave and then put them in a zip bag until you grill them.
Totally awesome! Probably take me a full day to do that and then some at 68 with back, shoulder, and knee service connected injuries, but certainly give a guy motivation to go that extra mile or two. Don’t comment much, but you are my “Sunday before church” fix!! Thank you!!
Second best part of Sunday, right after church!
This brings back memories. They should show this at SOI and MCT.
Anyone else see the size of that spider at 14:52 to the right of Cpl on the dirt burm!!!! Huge spider
On night in my fighting hole I felt something on my neck. I slapped it away and put my "moonbeam" on it... scorpion, looked behind me... all its babies 😳 worst night ever!
I have to say that I really appreciate the work you put in for your videos. I'm always eager to see what you will do next, and I'm never disappointed. Thank you for what you do to educate and entertain us.
Haven't watched you in a while, but when I saw how young you are, I had to come back. Nice job, kid! Keep up the good work.
DUDE! Major props, at 46 this is badass.
meant 246
I am always impressed by the effort and passion you have in making your videos!
I for one appreciated this video! Been a long time since I have done this! Last time for me was in 2002 field training. Whew, in my mid 20’s it was a job so my 🪖is off to you good sir. Thank you for what you do.
If I remember right, when I was taught to dig a grenade hole, it looked more like a drain hole at the end of your trench and we went deeper. I know that things change over time. I was Army in the early 80's, being trained by Vietnam vets.
Digging holes and burning coals
Outstanding AF
Absolutely OUTSTANDING AF BROTHER!!! Where there is a will, there is a way. Perseverance and tenacity, doing what you have to do even when things get tough we become tougher.
Another outstanding video. Thank you for the hard work you put in to entertain us sir!
Thanks for your service
Wow! This reminds me of the summer of 95 in Fort Jackson, sweat and all.
I could probably still dig it now at 46, but someone else might have to fill it back in.
Hi corporal kelly from the United kingdom vid dropped at 15:10 here
I've been watching your videos for a long time. I always learn something new and then that knowledge is reinforced in further videos. One thing I do not recall seeing is how to deal with biting insects. Most of the time your overnights are in the open without mosquito nets. Here in Minnesota, in the summer, our hemoglobin would be depleted by morning.
Listen if I was 25 to 30 years younger I would be looking you up at your age you are far better than a lot of men. That is why I am always thanking you when you show some of the simpler task I am soon to be 71 and still looking at how to survive. Thank you for your excellent videos
Thanks again, always enjoy the trip down memory lane. Take care and keep up the great work. .
Outstanding as Always. Appreciate what you do each and every week. 👍
Yeah brother, even though we Engineers had backhoe’s we still had to dig! Your a highly motivated individual 1980-86
I've often said engineer AIT was at Leonard Wood to get us used to digging up rocks. 😂
Essayons!
Memories 🇺🇸
Well before you take a dirt nap, I'd like to give you your flowers. My son and I truly appreciate all you do, we love watching your videos. You got us out in the woods plenty of times. Mad love and respect from the Foley family. We love you
The videos continue to get better and better! Thanks for showing us how it's done, EVERY WEEK FOR YEARS, Sir. You are appreciated.
Awesome show as always. Thanks
You sure do work hard to make these videos. Much appreciated 💛
Thank you for this video.
The right tarp would make that shelter good for an extended stay in foul weather.
My grandfather (German soldier east front the whole way, driving forward and running back) taught me to build a grenade hole. Conical shape, going into the wall on both sides, the conus extending into the trench, connecting with the one from the opposite side. Thus, it'll roll either way and spray out of the hole at a narrow angle. He never talked much about it, but I think he had his share of experience with situations like that. And yeah, we ain't twenty any more. My body often reminds me of the debts I've collected throughout the last almost fifty years of abusing it.
Awesome tutorial, Corporal!!!
Takes me back, way back! Mid 90’s Marine, digging fighting holes, been there!
STEAK
Great review on the grill, gonna have to check it out.
Now you got me wondering if I still got it. Gonna have to go see.
Semper Fi, Marine
Good Morning Viet Nam! Brings back a few memories Corporal AF; Thx for all the sweat to bring the CC Tribe another fine Sunday video. Semper Fi! DevilDoc8404
Bad Ass AF. Been a while since I watched you. Thanks, for your service and thanks for the honesty! Be safe and live well!
Excellent just like back in the day
Hard work this week! Outstanding! Thanks for your efforts to teach and inspire.
Corporal is a hard working and consistent. He just keeps putting out great works. Got me a Corp Kelly iPhone case two years ago and still going strong.
SHWN THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME FOR ME DID TIME BACK IN 1980 TO 2000 ,,,,NOW IM IN MY 60S THAT WAS THE GOOD O DAYS,,,,,,
Typing in all caps indicates YELLING and SCREAMING, certainly not your intent. Also, all upper-case letters is more difficult reading than all lower case. FYI, in most forums all upper-case type is highly frowned upon and many folks will not read those posts. Hope this helps you.
I learn something new every Sunday from corporal's corner
Wow, your first fighting position video is the first video of yours I saw. I was looking for how to dig a fighting position and yours was one of the better ones. Like you said there are others that include some of the military stuff; fields of fire, sectors, range cards, camouflage, etc, but yours stood out as well even till this day it's one of the better ones. I probably watch that video once every so many months. Kind of bittersweet hearing this is your last time digging something like this.
You damn sure earned them ribeyes!
Looks like an excellent video. Thank you.
46!!! WTF!
Impressive dude.
Hope for me yet....52! :)
Educational, as always.
Ahh the rain forest of the U.S. I love these old mountains.
Great video - way to keep pushing. I bet you'll do it again at 55.
That's amazing, my wife just yesterday made a garden just like yours. lol
"Outstanding" you still got it young fella
Once again thank you for this video outstanding
Great video. First time I’ve heard about the grenade sump. Hearing about the reasons for it, I’d have probably tried to dig it as deep as possible, lol. Subscribed.
Dec 3, 2015 at 1745 hours
Fallujah, Iraq
I was one street east of Henry and one street north of Fran.
I was rear sec. Dude rolls up behind my squad and throws a frag at us.
I scream “GRENADE!!!”.
I dive.
I watch it explode at my left hand side about three feet away. Everything went white. I saw my whole life. My family. My friends. Within a second. All of it.
Crazy enough…It missed all of me, except my right hand and holes in my clothing.
I laid on the ground. My SL screamed “he’s dead! He’s effin dead!” When I got up, I tried kicking in a door for cover. It was chained.
I was alone. My entire squad left me. Everyone of them.
I was alone in the alley.
I started RTB by myself on foot. Then when I got about one house up the street, my team pulled me inside the gate and did a blood sweep on me. I was in shock. But I was alive.
When we got back, 1st Sgt Z told me “You should be effin dead” as he laughed with me while I laid on a hospital bed in Fallujah medical (hospital set up for casualties) outside the city.
Anyways…Semper Fidelis
We dig you digging that hole , but don't be taking the long dirt nap in the sky too soon we need a Corporal like you to show us a thing or two about how things should be done.
Brings back memories. I just got back from Ft. Sill for my son’s BCT graduation. Got to buy a table of MGSs a drink and shoot the crap with them until the 3am. Semper Fi Corp, thanks for the vids, always relevant.
That’s a lot of work for an overnighter. 😂 Outstanding!!
My body was screaming just watching that. I commend you on being able to still do it!
Now this video is Awesome A.F 👍 thank you so much bless you.
You did some grunt work on this week's video. Above and beyond as usual.
Thanks if Only YT felt this way
Accept they hate you and everything you stand for, notice how they continally work against you?
I don't know what I like more, what you're building, or what you're cooking.
