Why did Pierre Poilievre get kicked out of question period?

  • History was made in the House of Commons after Speaker Greg Fergus expelled Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre for refusing to withdraw a statement calling Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a "wacko."
It is the first time in Canadian history that a leader of the Official Opposition has been booted from the House of Commons.
David Akin looks at how the Tories are doubling down instead of backing down, how that remark compares to other tense moments in previous Parliaments and whether Fergus can restore order to the House.

Tit for Tat is not what we need but elected individuals who can propose new ideas and suggestions that could help our Country and it’s people. Opposition party members are not meant to just criticize but they can actually be the creators of laws by convincing others. Very few politicians are there to contribute to the good of the citizens.. Unfortunately, many are more interested in pow and winning .
We the people should pay more attention to what the politicians are doing rather than taking a side. Many people have no clue of what exactly the politicians are doing or have done.
By the way, we 😅 could present an idea to the Parliament and get it passed. Don’t just elect someone or some party thinking they can solve all the problems that we don’t even know of.
Why don’t we arm ourselves with knowledge instead writing falsehoods and insults?
It is high time a Speaker should set some guidelines of behaviour for all members from the beginning.

Perhaps you are not aware of the parliamentary rules and regulations. The winning party gets to select the speaker of the house as they want. Speakers also have to adhere to the rules and set procedures of what they can or cannot do. It’s well within his power to make sure that members don’t go too far in their actions or demand civil behaviour. A strong capable speaker can control the flow of sessions to create a pleasant atmosphere among many other duties. This is not a case of conflict of interest. The Conservative leader loves this situation because he will get more attention as the fighter who doesn’t shut up. More drama created when the rest of his party walked out. In our world of common citizens , we
don’t have such privileges as to walk out from the workplace to show solidarity with a manager for the fear of not getting paid or even dismissed.
All politicians have no such fear because they are the chosen ones who get paid anyway.

    - going blackface multiple times
    - dress up in costumes on days other than Halloween
    - causing the greatest decline in the standard of living of Canadians since Confederation, or at least the Great Depression

He is good at pointing finger at others although his hand was in the cookie jar . He will divide people to get where he wants to be by imitating Trump. Powerful people. are behind him and have organized online groups targeting Trudeau . He was ready set go the moment he won party leadership. It must have been easy for him to eliminate his opponents at the leadership race. He knows that he has to take down Trudeau one way or the other for him to win. I wonder what he has done for Canadians and his accomplishments. He uses every opportunity to mislead Canadians. This incident was well planned so he could use it for his gain. The difference between him and Trump is that he is not ignorant. He uses ignorant, not well informed people very well to reach his goals.

After multiple request by speaker asking him to just withdraw, he basically refused, and when he did withdraw, he still disrespected the speaker, and by extension the house, by not following a simple request.
Had Pierre said "I withdraw my comment' that would've been enough. But Pierre wants to apply a personal label against the PM whether it's wacko, extremist, etc. That is unparliamentary, and should not be standard operating procedure for MPs.
