- Have you ever wanted to use two radios to control your robot? One person can control the drive while the other person controls the weapon. (If you use a wedge, the other person can just act like they're driving). In this tutorial, I show you how to setup the trainer feature on a OpenTX or Taranis radio. This allows you to use two people to control the same bot with a single receiver. This is also a good way to get more familiar with the OpenTX settings.

Thank you for showing me how to get into these options so I can have two people controlling the robot at once. It's really engaging for the kids if double the amount can join in the battle!
One problem I ran into while setting this up was either my rudder or aileron on the trainer was controlling the throttle on my master. I ended up finding trainer options in the radio menu and the sources for the trainers were completely different from what the radio is set up for. Like throttle on channel 2 and whatnot. Just giving people a heads up if they run into similar issues when trying to implement these options. Just to clarify, this was not a model setting, this was one of the pages in the master menu for the radio itself. Thanks and good luck in the round of 32!
That's a pretty neat feature.
Nice video
Is the second special function line necessary? Shouldn't the throttle work normally unless it's overridden by the first line?
Hey man! Great vid! Just wondering, why didn’t you go to motorama this year? Quite a shame, though I did see a mini copperhead as one competitor!
I wanted to go, but I was just too busy and had other things going on. We might be busy working on a much bigger bot for a big competition coming up, wink wink.
🤔🤔🤔
can i use audio jack 3.5mm for this cable?
Yes! That's exactly the cable I use. Just a 3.5mm audio extension cable.
Are you going to robobrawl by any chance?
Unfortunately, I am not. I will be unavailable that weekend.
