two of my favorite authors. this is amazing
I like to wander through thrift shops or stores with lots of seemingly random, unrelated items. I don't buy anything because I'm a hoarder and I know that if it comes into my house, it will never leave.. so I just wander and look and imagine the lives that interacted with these items.
One time, on one of these adventures, I was texting with a friend, and he said, "You walked 2 hours to go window shop in a thrift store?!" That was the first time that it occurred to me that that was unusual behavior. It just seemed so normal, and made such perfect sense that I would go for a long walk, to look and random objects, and not buy anything.
Everything seems normal in our own heads, I guess. I like that a lot.

They make me proud to grow up in suburban Florida. As if(following their example) one day my life with be the complete contrast of my childhood, and that's exciting.

Having grown up in a boring/normal place i lived the idea of escape and fantasy but i have grown out of love with fanatsy. I still love magical realism, maybe should read him? I am not sure. I like his style and love his videos

I had been looking forward to this panel since I saw the agenda, and it did not disappoint :D

The final movie was great, and the moment described at 14:06 is so insanely breathtaking

I'm very glad I saw this video. It introduced me to Ransom Riggs, who is weirdly a lot like me. I am currently going to film school, I love internet video, but I have recently had a lot of interest in writing some books.
read his books and you'll fall in love with his work. He's an interesting man

Ok fessing up. I'm in love with John Green. One of my fave books is Paper Towns. Seriously it's on my real list of fave books. Full confession, I didn't like fault in our stars. I really didn't like it. It felt forced in a way that wasn't organic to me. That being said I find the person John Green to be such a generous spirit. The fact that he takes such obvious delight in introducing his friend Ransom to us just makes me giddy. I've never used that word before
I think people are so interested in old decay things because we are so curious about death.

I'm curious if anyone else got angry like I did that the grandfather's death came about because the boy refused to give him access to his guns which he had bought for good reason and needed desperately. He was all "there, there grandfather" or whatever, but that infuriated me. I'm not sure I forgave him for it.
