After finishing this game I'm very taken by the story. I hope Odallus receives a sequel. I would very much love to see what Harries does next and learn more about what the Odallus is.
I found out that if you can get your attack animation to freeze when you kill the boss' dog thing, he will continue to get hit through the cutsene and will die before the second phase even starts. I am not sure how to do it perfectly, I found it completely by chance. My sword was still extended during the part where he gets off and laughs, but he was continuing to get hit. There is also the spear strat somebody else has already mentioned. Hope it helps!
I actually was able to do it with the spears but it's the first time I heard it's possible with the sword attack. That's awesome! I think the boss must laughs at the same position of the last hit for the trick to work. Easier with the spears because you can take a spot since the throw distance is always the same. Cool to know you could get it with the sword. It surely is a very quick kill.
hey guys, maybe you can help, i think i found a very very useful glitch nobody talks about, so maybe its something new. if you kill the second form of the last boss with a power up spear shot, then the lasers from the ceiling are going to freeze during the transformation "cutscene", and after the "cutscene" they are still frozen in the air, and they kill the third form of the boss in 3 seconds. pls give me a reply if it works everytime or if it was just a lucky move. nice vid by the way ;-)
Maybe it was a random bug, i tried a couple time but i cant recreate it. was kinda cool because it nearly insta killed the last form of the last boss, but i just cant get it done a second time. if you try and get it done would be cool, but i dont think it works every time
Too bad you can't recreate it that would be an awesome speedrun ending glitch. It may be the exact position where you standed while you were casting the spears. You should know there is a way to be invincible by falling in a hole while powering up with the last armor, but I think it does work only for the actual screen now that it's been fixed. I was using this to jump in the hole at the beginning of the last stage and then instakill the last boss by touching him :D
Man that worm in the water level takes so many more hits for me than it does you. Not sure how you killed it that fast. I hit it with like around 13 spears, 10 torches, and maybe 8 sword hits and it didn't die.
Honestly I think you can save even more than 2 minutes. There are many small execution mistakes during your run that makes you lose precious secondes. I wouldn't be surprised to see a sub 46 one of these days. Great run though, I'm gonna borrow your route and try to get the 3 achievements left for me (veteran, 100% in veteran and sub 2 hours) in one run :D
This game was both shit and good. It scratched that Castlevania itch but also played really clunky, yet in an authentic way. The story was... a story. The bosses were challenging and so was the game in general. I paid about £10 for this game. Not bad. It's no Hollow Knight though...
I already 100% all their games on Steam as well as some other retros, but I personally love this one. I can imagine myself as a kid curled at the front of CRT playing it whole night... because for me it has 'it'. Don't know how to explain it, it just feels very nostalgic
The main problem is the sword is too slow. Once you upgrade it and get double jump the entire game plays a lot better, but the original sword should have been faster
+Litlerix Mustermann Absolutely Litlerix, the bag counts as an item, and I do get it later at 17:13. I use the fact that I have to go back to this level to open the secret way to the underground temple. Using the double jump to get the item instead of pushing the block all the way down is a lot faster.
oh man i am so sorry ahahaha xD i was so blunted that day and it didnt get in my mind you would replay that part of the level, i dont know why and i completly forget about my comment ;)

First time I heard of this glitch, maybe your the first to find it. Tell me if you can make it work again, it could save 10 or 15 seconds I think.

I completely agree with you. Story is too basic, some levels impact the gameplay in strange ways. Level designs is nice, I had a lot of fun.

its not 100%.. im sorry but you can find a +5 bag in the first level.. i guess that counts as an item doesnt it?
