I just now finished replacing my DPF differential pressure sensor on my 2017 W900 ISX15 cm2350. I first searched underneath the truck for the sensor, but it was behind the passenger step panel. Super easy access. My two bolts broke, of course, but I got it resolved pretty quickly. Thank you so much for this, and ALL of your step-by-step repair videos. We both know this would’ve been a huge Kenworth shop bill. FYI, I got the OEM sensor for $110 through Amazon, and took maybe two weeks to arrive. I’ll be doing a regen shortly and will use my OTR Performance app to calibrate the sensor. Again, thank you so much.

Good video Ryan, do some research on the decomp tube positioning. If I'm not mistaken the two rubber hoses need to do a u-shape up to the sensor. The reason is there is moisture in the DPF when there's different temperatures outside and the moisture should pool in the bottom of the rubber hoses from the sensor to the decomp sensor I had just seen something on this not too recently and I was trying to find it to show you but I can't find it.

Hi, I work on school buses and I’m having a hell of a time with dpf issues, for obvious reasons, their stop and go nature.
I’m still new to understanding after treatment, but we got 4 buses, with dpf and egr codes. I’ve cleaned out both egr systems and doc and dpf, the bus will regen, all is well, then the codes come back after a month.
These buses had prior mechanics working on them before I got to this shop, one guy in particular who just like to willy nilly replace everything. He replaced turbo, Vogt actuator and egr valve.
I’m mentioning all this cause one of the big issues is that the dpf will not get up to temp. One bus it’s at 450 max, the other 920 max. Another it will not regen because of intake maninfold pressure code with engine derate, but also carried dpf and egr codes.
I’m curious, I’m noticing that you resent parameters after every service of the after treatment system, could this be the issue? I know for a fact the last guy never calibrated anything, so I did that, but I’ve never tried resetting parameters due to my lack of experience
I’m also finding that these Thomas C2 do not have a fuel doser for the after treatment, so what would turn up the heat in the dpf?
    Thanks!

If you have the code 1921, never replace sensor. Code 1921 is the moderate severe level, and you will be able to do force regen by computer.
The most severe level is 1922 code (red light). That will not allow you to do force regen, and you'll need to perform the maintenance reset by your computer. After that code will become 1921 (amber light), and you will be able to do force regen.

I'd rather buy an older truck and skip the CA.
Actually, the emissions systems are bad for the longevity of an engine....the backed up soot, increased heat....sometimes they even go up in flames.
Looks like you manage it well though. 👍

I have found many high paying loads are going to CA or from CA, it fits what I like to run, which is long haul.

@@truckingandfixing , If I decide to go O/O, it'll be more like a retirement plan....flexibility to run when I want or to spread things out at a manageable pace. What I do now is run run run to beat the clock everyday (500/600 mile round trips daily) if I want to go home.
My days are like 16 hour days with an hour each way commute time.....I'm almost 57......I'm wearing down fast now.

That’s true to some sort but we will never go back to old technology, the issue here is bad engineering filled with outsourcing and cheap parts. That’s what is killing these engines.

That dinging that set that off is your float in your reserver coolant tank ,,it needs to be changed out believe me ,,problem solved....

Correct! Horrible PACCAR design for the coolant reservoir. The coolant level sensor that plugs into the bottom of the reservoir is actually just a proximity sensor activated by a floating magnet that is cast inside of the reservoir when the reservoir is made. No way to get access to that floating magnet.

Hey Ryan do you have an contact number I need to ask you a few questions I had a mechanic put computer on my isx15 Cummins saying I need a fuel pressure actuator dpf pressure sensor 2 intake temp sensor outlet box sensor

Seems all trucks with over 500k require quite a bit of attention. Other you tube truckers with used trucks are doing their repairs just like you are. It’s would seem it’s either that or a new truck payment. I would assume your truck has already had an in-frame, because the other you tube guys with over like 600k-700k have done an in-frame. But, in our up and down, no government, China based economy, who wants a payment on a $160-200k truck? No new truck owner you tube trucker wants to answer questions about the depreciation on a new truck during its first 5 years. Like $120k on a Volvo. About $70k on a PB or KW, but you paid the difference in increased fuel cost versus the Volvo. That is not acceptable to me, Thanks, it was very interesting. Happy New Year.

You wasted your money there. What i see there are the tubes are not installled properly. The tubes should be installed at an downward position. The tubes go down from sensor but back up at the pipes that go into the inlet and outlet. You need to readjust the dpf filter and pipes. Having them like that will trap soot and moisture giving the dpf differential pressure sensor read higher preasures causing freaquent regens. Also ur bellows before the DOC can cause alot of pressure codes.
