This song and production of this song is the finest expression of human joy that I have ever heard, and I am an old timer in numerical terms.
How could anyone not be filled with joy when listening to this, no matter what musical tastes you harbour.
Some things just cut across it all and enter your heart, and this is one of them.

"Chiquitita" means 'little girl' (with affection) in spanish And the melody have a spanish tune, specialy by the acustic guitar But the center is the wonderful piano, like akmost all ABBA songs
"Chiquitita" is a beautiful song, it has hopeful lyrics, a melody that starts very soft with the blonde Agnetha's solo, then grows and explodes in a powerful chorus; Agnetha and Anni Frida's vocal harmonies are of excellence (Agnetha is soprano, Anni Frid is mezzo soprano, and together blending together the 'Third Voice' of ABBA)
"Chiquitita" was composed especially for the Concert by UNICEF, invited (with a lot of artist) by Bee Gees
ABBA premiered "Chiquitita" that night in January 9 (1979), and its royalties are eternal for UNICEF
"Chiquitita" was ABBA's greatest success in Latin America, that prompted ABBA to record it in Spanish, and its success was so extraordinary that in the following years ABBA recorded an album with its best songs entirely in Spanish
"Chiquitita" was specialy the greatest hit of ABBA in my country Argentina
"Chiquitita" is in the Top 3 of all ABBA worldwide biggest hits, with 'Dancing Queen" and "Fernando", and it's a fantastic Masterpiece
This promotional video was in February 1979 in Swizterland, when ABBA go there to a special TV "ABBA in Switzerland", for the 'International year of the Child'
    (That's why the snowman)
It's their only promotional video that ABBA made without Sweden
I wish to see you soon in another reactions to ABBA songs
GOD bless you and stay safe
    My best regards from Argentina

I have been around for a long time now and have heard a LOT of music, but I have never heard any two people who can harmize like these ladies. It's literally as if they were born to sing together with how they compliment each other so well. For years I had a celebrity crush on Anni-Frid (redhead). Now she's a princess... literally. They released a new album recently and sound as great as ever despite their ages. Only down side to it is there will be no promo tour of any kind due to Benny's poor health

    What does pop really mean?
    Catchy and popular I guess.
But it is funny that people assume Pop is easy, but it really is difficult to produce music with widespread appeal.
If it wasn't, everybody would be dong it.
If you want the perfect pop song then react to ABBA "SOS" 1975 TV performance (not the official video please)
If you want to know just how good ABBA were at crafting a pop song try "Name of the game"
Or for something a little rockier try ABBA "Eagle"

I didn't say it ironically but i really think it was too much work.. it would be better if they had time for many other things and to make videos for many songs
And many songs remained unfinished ( Just like that..

I think the videos that are around of ABBA in the US are shocking quality from the 70s but that's probably because of the US's outdated TV standard (NTSC) . This video was taken from a Swiss TV special and the European TV standard (PAL) was much better.
It's fine to call ABBA pop - they're popular with most of of the planet. Looking forward to more of their huge catalogue of hits.

Winter songs are usually Christmas songs... or the music by Trans Siberian Orchestra.
But if u truly want WINTER songs, nothing says freezing cold winter like Norwegian/ Scandinavian black metal music... They sound like a winter blizzard in full glory - harsh, cold and unrelenting... 🥶👿Bands (and their tracks) to check out -
    Emperor ('Ye Entrancemperium')
    Mayhem ('Freezing moon')
    Dimmu Borgir ('Mourning Palace')
Borknagar ('The dawn of the end')
Immortal ('The call of the wintermoon')
    Marduk ( 'Funeral dawn')

After Bjorn and Agnetha of Abba separated and divorced in 1978, it was no coincidence that breakup songs like 'Chiquitita' began to emerge by 1979/ 1980.

@@iykeharrison9161 Those lyrics were written by Bjorn after he and Agnetha split up... He wrote the song about someone trying to cheer up his lover/partner after the end of their relationship.
"In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow
How I hate to see you like this
There is no way you can deny it"
      ---------
And it was Abba's pattern of working together that Bjorn would write lyrics for Agnetha to sing in the studio... "Try once more like you did before, Sing a new song, Chiquitita"
If u can't see the obvious, that's on you... Bjorn has admitted that sorrow from breakups after their divorces was running theme in Abba's final albums - songs like:
'The winner takes it all'... 'One of us' ... 'Happy new year'... 'When all is said and done'... 'Our last summer'...

I’m a Swede, and indeed ABBA had a great sense for melodies and the production was always top. But the beat and rhythm is just way too happy-go-lucky and does not represent the scandinavian moodiness very well, maybe the creepy snowman do though. 🤣 For a more gritty and guitar wailing view of Swedish music, please check out Hellacopters - Hopeless case of a kid in denial!!

make a video(they spent time on many things, for example, they recorded songs over and over again in many languages) , so every shot of them in their beauty and youth is precious
