Practically new. Just bought this fridge about 1 /12 years ago and its making a noise, 2013 MODEL can anyone tell me what this sound might be please? LFX31925ST / 03 The Ice maker is turned off
I have the same fridge and the same problem and after watching couple videos on CZcams and fixed it by taking the bottom drawers out and used the hair dryer melt the ice on the back wall where the fans located, make sure unplugged the power cord and wipe all the water dry and free of ice before put everything back on and plug-in the power . It's very easy fix saved hundreds of dollars for call repair tech .
Same Frig, bought in 2013. Had multiple parts replaced over several service calls with the ice bin freezing over, now the continual humming noise, somewhat loud, from the back of the unit. This is the 1st LG appliance, and the last for me. $3k, 5 yrs old and multiple problems.
Same Frig, same problem! Remove bottom freezer drawers and the back vent panel behind those drawers. Found Ice build up defrosed it with a hair dryer simular to another utube post. The key was when you open the door the noise stops. Indication that the blower fans to move the cold up to the top are rubbing on ice build up on evap coils, They shut off when the doors are open and noise stops. My kids were leaving bottom freezer drawer open. Keep less full now and make sure it always shuts. Easy fix... Spend 45 mins mostly emptying frozen goods and repacking.
Ally Christensen This is what I had to do. Same noise. Is it really easy to remove drawers and back panel. Error code Er 1f meaning fan blowing cold air to ice maker area is stuck with ice or burned. Sadly mine had both issues. Replaced with part # ABA72913413 from Amazon and all good now. The ice maker has a small squared button on the left bottom area under switch to run the tray a full turn. I've had to press it once so it will start making ice.
i had just called a repair service then read your comment and sure enough it was ice build up behind the bottom drawers!! thank you for saving me some $$
Awesome, Thanks Ally .. I was pondering a new fridge till I read this. I have the twistie manual ice tray.. behind it is the vent, and it was indeed frosted over. Being a guy, no hairdryer .. but three hours defrosting the freezer worked a treat. Totally silent fridge again. No repairman or new fridge required. God that was easy .. i love goggle!
He shook my hand and said "thankyou." My future in-laws, who cant stand me, had a problem with their refrigerator clunking. Naturally, I disappeared into the garage to ask youtube what it was and watched this video. However it was your comment that made the difference. I followed your instructions, and to the shock of her parents I fixed it. They asked me how did I know how to fix it? Shamefully I replied that "ahhh im kinda handy with stuff." He shook my hand, and gave me a bottle of scotch before we left after thanksgiving dinner. Sorry for not giving you the credit, but im tipping my glass of 30 year old scotch in your honor. Thanks! -Every guy in the history of the world who has tried to win over the in-laws -
Mine was doing this, and I took the back service panel off and noticed that the sound stopped. The service panel metal to metal contact along with normal vibration was the root cause. I folded the insulation over which eliminated the metal to metal contact, and now it’s as quiet as it has ever been.
I have a one-month old stainless steel, french door, LG refrigerator, model LFX25974 which makes an intermittent buzzing noise some of the time, like when its running. Customer service told me that it was normal compressor noise. I wonder. I had a GE for 25 years and never heard a peep out of it.
The fridge is a pile of junk. We had to replace the compressor and LG stuck us with $600 in labor and now we have this noise going on. Like others, I will never buy a LG anything again and I check every couple of weeks to see if there is a class action filed somewhere on this lemon.
Same problem here, leveling made the trick for me but I had to do it like fine tuning a violin...literally laying on the floor and adjusting the legs as I heard the noise going up and down. Mine gets quieter when right left is all the way up and left all the way down, I guess it depends on the floor.
I have the same fridge, was serviced a yr & half later, replaced a compressor, now makes a loud noise, called Best Buy and they said as long as it works they don’t care about the noise. This is the last LG we ever buy. That goes for Best Buy as well! From now on it’s Lowe’s.
$3K for garbage is correct. This issue happened to my LG while still under the 5 year extended warranty. Let me tell you, several repairmen made approximately 12+ visits to my house before I finally got fed up and decided that they didn't know what in h€|| they were doing. Seven parts were replaced on the refrigerator and it still didn't work. I thought it was best to purchase a new unit. That was cheaper than taking off from work to allow the repairmen inside to try to fix the problem. However, I patiently began adjusting the temperature on the unit. Low and behold, the frig started working properly. Fast forward 2 years later, my warranty has expired and the LG is back to no good again. It's definitely time to buy a new refrigerator. By the way, I have an LG dishwasher, it isn't the best at washing dishes (pre-washed). It's of no use to me, so I hand wash my dishes. Buyer beware.
Mine doesn't do that thank god but the damper on the fridge side at the top/back is loud when it opens and closes. I makes this kind of grinding/buzzing sound and it didn't make that before. The fridge is about 2 1/2 years old. This is my second LG side by side and the first one didn't do that but I had it a little over a year. I think most of these are junk - I hope this will at least last 5 years. The previous fridge was a Samsung and it was about 10 years old but it made numerous annoying sounds and if the power ever went off it wouldn't turn back on by itself when the power came on again.
Same fridge, the noise was behind the panel, i removed everything and its quiet as a mf. Ice buildup it was driving me nuts. All you need is a screwdriver and a blower and in 30 mins is fixed.
Hi KDOGTV thanks for this post. I have the same exact LG fridge bought Jan 2016. Too soon to have any issues. What ended up being the prob. Last night i heard the noise today I have an EE and FF error codes. Freezer sounds like its off. Was it just cleaning the filters?
+TheBoHoBoy There are only adjustable legs in the front, in the back there are wheels which aren't accessible without removing the radiator cover... I checked the level and the doors close fine and it was level. If I were to adjust the front legs anymore it wouldn't be level. What I did do was remove the radiator cover and noticed tons of collected dust all over, its just a dust magnet so I vacuumed it all off and now no more noise...

LG doesn't stand for Life's Great anymore... it now stands for "Life's Garbage"
I thought it stands for Lousy Goods
They’ve gotten a lot better of late. Safe to purchase now. Repairman filled me in. Consumer Reports will know soon, hopefully.

They are full of #%$*. Stay away from LG

I had this problem, my floor is not level. I had to put some shims under the back right wheel to level. then level the front.. noise went away
I have the same refrigerator and it is doing the exact same thing. I bought the extended warranty, so I'll call today.
sounds like the compressor. refrigerators these days are junk
I got burned, compressor bad at 5 year mark

I am getting a grinding noise on my LG ref ridge.
did you figure out the noise? my fridge is making this noise
Bought $1400 LG fridge...ice maker broke just over a year after, but they would not warrant it. Never again-they make garbage.
Just started the noises today - 3.5 years old mega pissed - will read through this on my way to work
Same fridge, the noise was behind the panel, i removed everything and its quiet as a mf. Ice buildup it was driving me nuts. All you need is a screwdriver and a blower and in 30 mins is fixed.

low water pressure????, check the water lines connected to the back of the unit, have you already change your water filter???
We bought LG LRFXS2503S March 12th '22. It is a NIGHTMARE with the buzzing noise. Spent 3k also. I am sick about it.
$3000 for garbage.
I agree, I bought an LG 13 months ago. Wish I'd seen you'd video. They are horrible and the service technicians are incompetent.
Seriously been having issues since we purchased it
It's ridiculous.
Isabel Robles not sure
If that does not work, try raising it slightly fro the front, the little legs should be able to be adjusted,

Any chance you could upload a video on how to remove the radiator cover and collect the dust? Thanks
SO, problem solved? Can i buy a LG? :D
I have got the same problem with Samsung side by side
In the same boat right now, but mine won’t produce ice and it’s only 8months old. Wtf!! Calling for service tomorrow.
My ice maker motor won’t stop throwing ice out I have a smart LG don’t know what to do
Not sure you figured it out yet, but the evaporator fan blades are hitting ice. Cheap fix.
czcams.com/video/4qqa1oAYKUc/video.html
Dirk Cedergren spot on. I have this noise and I looked at the back of freezer and I saw accumulation of ice
What kind of low life’s thumbs down this, must work for LG...
Your refrigerator is not level. Some are silent if they are raised slightly at the back also
There are no legs in the back
Yeap. It took me a while. First I tried at front, then in the back. With the left side higher finally silence. Thank you!!
Knoebels can like any video on CZcams.
Why exactly did they hit like on this?
Did you ever find out what the issue was with your fridge
check your fan cover in the back. Also try raising the two front legs. Doesn't sound like anything major.
Raising the front legs did it for me. It was resting on the rollers instead of the legs. I guess that matters!
what was the fix
To sell it. Someone said it was the fan making the noise, pull it out and look at that.
thanks
your ice maker is on "off" open it and there's a switch
A switch for what
what if the front code says Er FF what is the meaning of that?

LG Error Code Er FF
= Error is Evaporator Fan Failed = Repair or Check Fan Motor, Control Board, and Wiring Harness.

Lance Richardson Thank You
My LG gr-l247stsl fridge was making a similar noise now the display shows Er FF So my guess would be the Evaporator Fan Motor :(
