It is not necessarily pollution but cold weather that makes you tired. The apartment heat system dries the air quickly and ventilation usually doesn't compensate enough for that. Also breathing cold air outside for a long period of time will make you more tired than usual. Personally I have more energy when I am in warm countries.

Lviv is known as the cultural capital of Ukraine and they're also famous for their chocolates. Kyiv is also a really nice city and has European vibes. The further east you go it gets more Soviet/Russian (was in Kharkiv in 2019 and it felt post-Soviet in its architecture).

Lviv is fun and great for living. Kyiv is more culturally rich and a deeper tourist experience imo

"Lviv is known as the cultural capital of Ukraine"
Most of the buildings in Inner Lviv were built by the Austrian Empire and Polish commonwealth. Like China Russia has always preferred wide boulevards. Which is more cultural is not an ideal thing to say, more so with the world changing and the old 'good' of the west being exposed as very very bad in many ways.

Very nice video😊👍🏼 i really enjoy that you are so honest in your videos & you tell people what you really feel, if only all youtubers did that. I subscribed & look forward to more videos. I also want to add that it could absolutely be pollution causing you feel tired in those places, air pollution is sadly very bad in whole poland. You can check different air quality apps and see that usually whole poland has HIGH pollution, maybe not compaired to bangkok for example but higher then nordic countries that i live in. Im aware you are in ucraine in this video though but maybe they dont have the same manufactors as in poland that causing that shift.

Thank you for the video, Wes! Always happy to watch your updates.
I rarely comment of anything on the Internet, especially CZcams, but this time I could not resist :)
With all the respect Wes, here are a couple of corrections:
Those are not ´Russian´ letters- Ukrainian alphabet is of Cyrillic origin that came from Bulgaria. Especially in the times like these please be careful saying that this is ´Russian´, as it would deeply annoy and disrespect Ukrainians and for a valid reason as there are fighting for their freedom and sovereignty. Also adding Moscow´s Kremlin to the video dedicated to Ukraine might be a bit of a cultural faux pas... ( I am saying this as a Russian- born Kiwi btw!)
Secondly, Soviet architecture is know for its either grand Stalin buildings or just ugly brutalism- the architecture in the city centre of both Krakow and Lviv is much older and much pretter than that. In fact, Poland has never been part of the Soviet Union - Lviv, in fact used to be a Polish city, which may be the reason why it resembles Krakow architecturally. Love watching your videos - don´t want to be a nag but this is something I thought would be important to pint out. Thank you!

They are 10 times more educated than Colombian women, they are loyal and very good wife material. But that won't come easy you need to be able to handle strong slavic women that won't look at you with hungry eyes like Colombian women look at any gringo. She needs to feel a very strong support from you as a man.

Lviv was for hundred of years part of Poland but after the war Russian give to Ukraine ! Unfortunately because Ukraine is in war there is no money for renovation ! I was in Ukraine before the war and Ukraine was developing fast and was very nice ! Unfortunately now everything stop ! Hopefully they can start living again !

It feels like Colombia because they have more primitive buses and infrastructure like you pointed out, it's rougher around the edges than other European cities and countries when you're comparing the Ukraine to Europe… And the beautiful architecture there that is run down is not because they are waiting till after the war to restore it. It is because the Ukraine has had corrupt governments in place for many many decades including the present one, and they don't put the money into the infrastructure and restoring the beautiful architecture because the $$$ is going into the coffers and lining the pockets of corrupt politicians and companies that do business there...

I visited Lviv twice about 5 years ago when Wizz Air would fly you there for £10. It was an exceptionally cheap city, you could get a spotless Airbnb for £15-20 p/n and meals for about £10 max at luxurious restaurants with a high standard of cuisine. I got a lot of Budapest vibes there, and it makes sense when you remember that it used to be part of the Austro-Hungarian empire, along with Krakow and then they were all part of the Soviet Union too
I found the people of Lviv somewhat cold and a little stand-offish, with many lacking basic manners and courtesy. I found that you would catch many staring, and then when you smiled back they continued giving you a thousand yard stare whilst toking on a cigarette. In contrast, the people of Kyiv were much friendlier and more used-to foreigners
The women of Lviv were very attractive if brunettes are your thing, and I agree with Wes that you could go to a little supermarket or a tiny hipster cafe and the love of your life would be working there just looking at you with turquoise blue Slavic eyes largely oblivious to her beauty. Wes geezer I'd be interested to know how you actually got there because this has made me feel like returning. I take it you got the train from Krakow? Would be great if you made a short vid on this

I enjoyed listening to your thoughts on Lviv. I think part of the big difference with Krakow might come from the fact that Poland has been developing and getting Westernized for a while, and Lviv is just kind of starting this process. So doing an analogy, it might be if like Poland would be Argentina, and Ukraine would be Colombia. Hope you enjoy Kyiv!!

Lviv has always been a Ukrainian city, it was founded by Prince Danylo, King of Galicia (part of Ukraine). At that time, our state was called Kyivan Rus. and Russia did not exist at all. and Moscow itself was founded by the son of the Kiev prince who fled further to the swamps and founded his city of Moscow there. Russia was invented by Peter 1 and then he began to call his Moscow possessions that way. unfortunately, the territory of our state was periodically occupied by neighboring states. in those ancient times, Poland was occupied either by Germany or by the Russian Empire. after the war, Russia did not exist - there was a Soviet Union of 15 republics, which included Ukraine and Russia.
