I like these devices, they remind me my chilhood. I miss the sound when you open the cassette door and insert the tape, close the door, press the play button and the music starts to play. Or turning the tuning knob searching for a radio station. Good old 80's!
I have cassette tape like that in one gold and another one in silver. ..I miss my trc 934 back in 1986 I also still have about 50 cassette tapes with mix music like break dancing, , high energy, , rap,, ect.a and a few Lps. from using my friend DJ system back in the day. .

Have you ever opened this up? I saw some guy's video where he opens it up and shows that the back of the tweeters are just solid plastic with no wires going to them, so the tweeters are fake and it only had one mic on one side. Crazy stuff!
No, his was all factory. You could see they were original parts. I have one of these as well, but the guy I bought it from replaced the fake tweeters with real ones. Mine also has white woofers, which aren't original either. The fake tweeters are resonators that will seem like they're producing sound.

Beautiful boombox, i used to have the same TRC-920 back in the early 80s, and then i bought the larger black Lasonic in the late 80s for $160 at woolworths. i noticed this boombox looks kinda like the new GPO brooklyn in certain areas. what do you think of the new GPO brooklyn? i like the 80s style with the radio and cassette player and all the chrome features it has.

This is one of the best. Its brother the 931 is considered one of the HOLY GRAILS of 80s BOOMBOXES.
I think this 920 is built better than the 931. The shiny piano-black plastic on the 931 is very thin.

Must have been some other model, or one that had been raided for parts. Mine produces tons of sound from the tweeters.
