I wasn't aware they made a center differential that's smaller and requires no Dremel work now.
My RedCat variant has a full sized rear differential in the center, with the stock spur gear bolted up. That's the only option I had when I did mine early on, so I had to hack up the center chassis top deck a bit to fit the spur through.
Glad to see they've made better parts for this truck finally! Vas, if you want, I can get you some 12mm wheel hexes for that truck. Shipping and everything on me, just let me know!

I am always amazed about how perfectly you clean your RC´s. They look like new, like just unboxed, no rust.. When I clean my rc the plastics is faded, not looking good... I will be happy If you do video about your cleaning process

Nice build! Have the redcat myself. I experience some cogging when going to an 11t pinion on stock esc. Raise the punch level a bit if you have the same problem. Watch temps on esc/motor when adding weight or gearing up. Let us know how it runs!
WOW! The E5 is getting a lot of love today. What Redcat Rc in the US would this be? Those front knuckles look like it was a bit of work.

hey Vas! truck came out amazing bro! just one question. why did u use heavier shock oil in the back? I've always been told and used a bit lighter in the rear.. i know when racing even the "pro's" typically use lighter in the rear too
vas I know a traxxas rustler is the most overdone rc out there but I believe it is valuable to any rc collection. extremely versitle and extremely fast. I think it would be nice if you put your own spin on the old truck
+limitless rc I've had one and, to be honest, it really doesn't interest me anymore. Not only has that truck been done to death by so many CZcamsrs out there, but it's such an old platform that I'd only collect it as a vintage RC now, I wouldn't even bother with upgrades if I was really interested in it.

I changed my pinion to 12T but it gets too much heat..well it is summer but i couldnt run over 5min..do i have to change motor too?

This one is waterproof, so I just put it under the tap and wash it out. Then I dry it straight after with a towel and hair dryer. ;)

Vas, what would you estimate all these upgrades cost, and would you think that most are essential?
+John Perez I don't know what they cost, but I'd say the SS skid plates are the most essential. Secondly would be the centre diff and of course the bigger pinion.

Hey Vas, I just assembled the center diff for my e5 and I have a small black rubber o-ring left. No clue where that would go.
That goes around the edge of the diff case to seal it when you put the spur on. So it goes between the diff case and the spur gear, but it sits on the edge of the diff case. There should be a small recess on the edge of the diff case where that rubber ring should go. Hope that helps.
Thanks for your answer. Those are the red o-rings. I was talking about the black o-ring. I figured out by now, that it is used to reduce the play of the driveshaft by putting it. A weird solution, but it seems to work.
Sperrus Oh, it's that small... sorry, I thought you were referring to a large o-ring that some diffs have to go around the diff case. Mind you, it's usually a pain to put those one anyway.

Hmm, that's probably pushing it, so I'm not sure. Most RTR radios will do 2-300m easily and the average basher doesn't usually need anymore than that, but 400 could be a bit much. 🤷🏼♂️ I haven't tested that sort of range, so I can't confirm either way.
