Here in Scotland 🏴 we mainly use "National Hives" nearly the same as a Langstroth but the Width is nearly the Depth too. (Off Square/Rectangle !)
They do great on the Heather Flowering Moors. (Heather Honey is one thing Scotland has a lot of.) 🤭
I do also have Langstroth and some Smaller Box Hives called the "French Warre Hive." Easy to make :Box Height : is made by cutting up a Scaffolding Board, using that boards width ! They are super sturdy and thick, so have a good Insulation value (heat retention properties for our cold Scottish Winters. 🥶)
A whole Hive is like a little tower, sometimes x6 Boxes Tall ! High, but easier to lift each Brood/Super on/off as needed. 👍
These Warres are fabulous at being the Starter and Finisher Colonies. Way easier to lift say x4 Boxes of only x1 Ft Square ! Easier in the lifting on and off Queen searches / taking off Honey Supers. 🤭
Do all my Queen "Rearing" in these Hives. Better still than a x5 Nuc or Nuc Stack. (Wobble.)
Then take emerged (Caged) Queen and add to Hives, Nucs, or Sell or Post them on.
A case of making 'Frames' DIY wise (not a fan of Top Bars)
Using Chicken Feed shipment Wooden Pallets.* Scrap gets cut up into all sorts re the Bee Yard. Frames, Swarm Boxes etc. . . 🙃

is 'heated' Treated and not the Chemical dipped ones!)

That's a lot of Cells, Cups, Holders, and Rollers ! Even got a one Handed Queen Catcher, Push in Cage and a Pointy Larva Transfer Tool. All probably via China !?
I too have dexterity issues, so prefer to Roller Cage Cups and associated Queen Cells so they on being 'Sealed', can be then contained. Less likely to be knocked or damaged ! 😖
Makes the moving on and off much easier. Granted it takes more Frame Rails to up the volume of Cup holding space.
Also got a tremendous 'Queen Cage' and Holder Tray off Amazon (UK) its (x46) Cages of these (!) And its associated Tray. That's a Queen holding Palace. 😆 Think I will 1/2 that Holder. Easier to handle etc. . .
Queen Cages are the ones with a Tiny Tube at one end, you Introduce Queen in by.
The other end has a Flap /Fondant Shelf. That assists Queen with Attendents in food need, if Shipping to Queen Buyers. Or to achieve a 'slow release' when Re-Queening a Colony. (Bees chew through the fondant, while getting known to each other.) Nice. 😏
One final note.
I would personally get some BBQ Skewers and run them vertically in those 'voids' where the Bees need to Build Comb to make that Egg Cage System be part of a full frame.
Tip : If you cover those fine timber (or bamboo) BBQ Skewers in melted 'Beeswax' the Colony will build up Comb super quickly. And it gives more strength, having those 'rails set' within that Frame and associated Comb.
Decide your spacing. Drill top and bottom pilot holes on inner top & low edge.
Cut BBQ's Skqs a tad longer than the true length of that Bar/Rail/Bar space.
Soak BBQs Skqs in boiling hot water, soak for say x10 Mins, this makes them a bit more bendable. Add one end 'in,' bend slightly off straight, add other end in. Wood Glue holes before is an option (!) Then its just painting on some Melted Wax to all those BBQ Skqs,
all along Nicot Cage Edges. All surfaces of Frame insides. And you will get perfectly Drawn/Straight/Strong Comb.

The "hair roller" cages are only needed if you are hatching your queen cells in an incubator (rather than a nuc/colony). The cages provide protection for your remaining cells when the first virgin emerges. This prevents them from killing each other. Your method doesn't require them.

Is there reason why you replaced Queen excluder between boxes when Queen was already inside the Nicot cassette?
Just a convenient place to keep it until the next day.
