"The Pit and the Pendulum" is a short story written by Edgar Allan Poe and first published in 1842 in the literary annual The Gift: A Christmas and New Year's Present for 1843. The story is about the torments endured by a prisoner of the Spanish Inquisition, though Poe skews historical facts. The narrator of the story describes his experience of being tortured. The story is especially effective at inspiring fear in the reader because of its heavy focus on the senses, such as sound, emphasizing its reality, unlike many of Poe's stories which are aided by the supernatural. The traditional elements established in popular horror tales at the time are followed, but critical reception has been mixed. The tale has been adapted to film several times.

I earlier felt, this is a overrated story by Poe, I have read various audiobook on YT but none give me feel, the vibes like-- It's truly some expectional piece of writing. But, This Video, it's animation, the bleak ambience with music, colour, painting, rats, pits and Pendulum. It's more than experiencing of a story. Thanks a lot, for making this video. It is expectional, rare piece of Art on YT. Love 💝🥰💫✨✨

when he is free from the straps and is observing the walls and the figures, the narrator mentioned something about Color. at first I thought it was the color of the blood from the rats. but now i am thinking that now since the room is bright and he is no longer forcefully prone in position he really is observing what is on the walls (ie: demon and torment carvings). Am I assuming right?
EDIT: Wrote this while not viewing a couple seconds forward where it explains the enkindled structure (which i assume was what he meant by color). anyway great video!
