Tails is awesome but it is an amnesiac love os which isn't for everyone or every purpose... so a great portable tool and tor browser in a very secure platform but even app updates are undone every time you run it unless you update the live os. Whonix is pretty great too. Two part system that keeps the gateway seprate from the work station so that the work station doesn't even know the IP. This helps prevent IP leaks.
