    I did something similar with vegetables, but the water could only go halfway up the roots, so the top half gets more oxygen and prevent root rot.

    Don't use fork on the roots..
    Just water, divide the plant, trim root to 1-1/2inch.
    No need so much hydroton.
    Once a week change water; continue to add water as it get little until the top of roots.

    • @BotanicalWoman
      @BotanicalWoman  Před 3 lety +1

      how often do you change the water? I would also clean up the roots as some of them will die and thats not good for the water. I find changing the water often in the beginning is pretty critical until it develops water roots, roots that can live in water, to be successful. I am sorry you are having a hard time.

    • @av299
      @av299 Před 3 lety +2

      the water needs fertilizer and nutrients as well. water alone wont do it. Ive seen peace lilys with minimal sunlight, normal house temperatures, and just water with good fertilizer and nutrients, and they bloom beautifully! Also, they dont like tap water, they prefer filtered and distilled, seriously haha But they're worth it!

      Peace lily's grow near rivers in the southern part of north America so they actually like to stay pretty wet. I've found mine does good in water, even better when I use a small aquarium pump to put oxygen into the water. That being said, they won't last forever in water unless you're using a dissolvable fertilizer of some sort.
