Yes, Padron has a lot of tobacco and they can afford to let it rest for a very long time in the Primary Stage. Other companies cannot afford the luxury of keeping the tobacco out of circulation that long, so most companies age their tobacco during the Primary Stage for 2-3 years. I didn't mention in the video, but Cuba has been known NOT to age their tobacco long in the Primary Stage. Under-fermentation and under-aging means that the consumer has to allow more time in the the Tertiary Stage.

Doc Diaz Yeah your other videos are great too. Your cabinet humidor story is so accurate. If you think you need space for 200 cigars then double or triple that. I did experience that recently and now am looking for a small cabinet to supplement my other table humidor. Likely I will simply use a pseudo antique cabinet and retrofit in a humidification system leaving the cigars in the box. The stock cabinets are way too pricey for what they are. I plan on watching the other videos having watched a couple including the drew estates one.. one of my favs. I am envious of your lifestyle!!
michael b I've seen some pretty cool retro cabinets. Last night I was talking with a friend who retrofitted a coffee table that has 4 drawers. Each drawer was made into its own humidor and slides into place perfectly. It was a great idea. Cheers.
Careful regulation of temperature, with the right amount of moisture while minimizing exposure to oxygen. That ensures a hostile environment for fungi like mold, and bacteria that are dangerous to consume. The word "fermentation" for the process is a tad bit misleading, because you're not fermenting it. It's in general a form of curing, which allows for slow oxidative processes to break down molecules in the tobacco.

A great example of some Cuban cigars which age well are the Bolivar Gold Medals! Night and day with a year or two of aging!
