Another great video, really helpful. I have the same conditions as you and relate so much to what you say. Thank you Olga!

Hi! Hope your doing well! I found your lovely book club on goodreads. Would you consider opening the book club for reading books on healing/mindset together, or opening up for buddy reads? Or do you know of a book club for chronically ill people to read these types of non-fiction books?

Hi! I am currently not hosting anything for the book club at all, as my symptoms have gotten a little harder to manage and I didn’t have time for everything :) Buddy reads are totally acceptable, it was never "against the rules" - it's just a matter of getting in touch with the other participants and finding a friend to read with :)
As for non-fiction, I don't think that will ever be in the plans for the book club, but I am sure there must be other book clubs who read that kind of thing - I don't remember any right now, but I will try to find some and let you know.
Also, you might consider joining a readathon - twitter.com/readathonnews - @readathonnews on twitter has all the info on most readathons and it might be a good place to start looking :)

❓At the END soo I suffer from Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety, Clinical Depression, looking into possibly Borderline Personality (undiagnosed currently but working thro). I’ve recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. My specialist, said that there are more recent study that has shown to be a couple diagnoses usually is someone with CPTSD. Basically said that from high trauma in life of those with PTSD, CPTSD. Or others as long as childhood trauma. That information alone is damaging . But I have no one that has my mental and physical health issues or even understand it for what it scientifically is. With that being said, do you happen to have PTSD or something linking trauma and your fibromyalgia? Can you go into these studies more? I’m a mom of two and just don’t have any idea how to research fibromyalgia, normally I’m the person to go to to research but I’m struggling here! help!!!

Hi Lexie! It is indeed very common for PTSD & other trauma "based" conditions to be present in people with fibromyalgia. I personally deal with anxiety due to my childhood trauma but have long thought I've had mild fibro symptoms all my life. I'm normally very cautious around this topic though because there are some people who then assume that we ALL have PTSD & that fibro is therefore psychological or psychosomatic, which is not true, but can be very dangerous and damaging to our community.
I will make a video about this in the future (I can't specify when though!) to try and help you :)
But all in all, there is a link between trauma and both physical and mental illness, surely stemming from the child's brain's need to protect itself from harm, creating unhealthy coping mechanisms that kept them safe in the traumatic events/environment. And there has long been thought to be a link between both physical and psychological trauma and the development of fibromyalgia (if you google "fibromyalgia causes" those should show up in most sites). In my case, we believe a dance injury triggered the full blown illness, but, like I mentioned, I feel I've had symptoms all my life, just much too mild to be noticed.
Hope you have a low pain day :)
