  • Growing up we were told if you work hard, go to college get a degree, get a good paying job that you would be able to afford a handsome lifestyle a beautiful home with still plenty of money left over to spare. But in 2024 that is no longer true in fact it probably hasn't been true for at least the last three years or so. Life now has become so expensive, you're lucky if you can even afford a home today let alone have all the extra luxuries that come along with the promises of the past. This economy is failing Americans.

Michael, Over 100,000 illegal aliens have been flown into Florida cities with over 60,000 into Ft. Lauderdale and over 90,000 into Miami... then they are giving free rent on yours and other Americans tax bill. This means they take up all the cheap housing options. What does this really mean for the local FL real estate market? It means that all the cheap housing options are taken up by illegals with free rent and they are given a job too. So the American citizens who were living in an affordable rental in FL no longer can do that and they lost their lower-end jobs that were taken up by illegals who are paid less. So now they are either homeless, moved back in with mom and dad, or they have to get a better job and compete for higher priced real estate options which makes the market more compact and competitive and much much more expensive... it's essentially cutting off the bottom end of both the real estate market and the job market and giving it to illegals while taking it away from Americans. This is why real estate is so expensive, yet you never talk about this. Are you in denial or is it because your family are from another country? You need to tell the truth to your viewers who think that when the inventory increases the price will go down. That's not the case. When the inventory goes up the illegals will take all the lower end options leaving American citizens to compete for the high cost real estate. This is happening all across the country, but seems like they are trying to flip Florida by these stats.

Credit cards were always a plan to extract more wealth from the general population..
and sadly the population fell for it completely, and far too easily/quickly,
and then taught their youth how great and necessary it was to be "successful"..
And now look at the national credit debt. 🤷
Society is not very bright or attentive, because it's been conditioned to focus on the illusion of "happiness" and to correlate success to "happiness"

Still a few months left til my atv, and credit debts are finally all paid off... the only thing that saved me from losing my current home , is the fact that i was able to buy an older home, almost 90 yrs old, and it was for less than 100 k. An expensive world to try and raise a family in, especially on single income.. Like many, i also lose hours at my job because we have almost half the crew from over seas..foreigners here on contract just to work for 2 yrs.., and they get promised hours if there are any hours to work, but me( born here in this country), dont get asked to go into work when hours are minimal, because the management and the workers from across the world, ..are the ones promised the work. I lose money for food on my table for my kids , because companies would rather hire foreigners because they can pay those workers much much less per hour. our country is beyond repair it seems

We don’t own a second home, we don’t take vacations, we drive paid off cars…don’t make it a generational
battle. They want to divide the country. I worry about the younger people and what their futures will be. The government is after all of us…they want more of our money to give away to those who don’t pay in, and to support wars created to make themselves rich at our expense.

In July of 2016 most working folks were not investing in good companies like NVIDIA nor were they purchasing just a few little shares here and there of good dividend paying energy and medical companies AND reinvesting the divi payouts. Most of the individuals purchasing these homes and condos, were ( are) disciplined, frugal and 'stayed the course' through the 90s and 2000s. Many of these buyers looked at their investing as a marathon rather than a 100 yd dash. Many had 401k's that they contributed heavily to. Their attitude, strategy and philosophy was "Why would I buy a new big screen TV when I can buy a few shares of some good dividend paying companies? Chances are, their strategy was rarely, "Why would I invest in stocks when I can buy a new purse?" Or..." Why would I buy that little rental property when I can buy that cool new car?" People that own these units did not complain or bad mouth the rich. They just said, "No matter how small the amount, I'm just going to be disciplined and get started. Just stop one of these homeowners and ask them how they did it. Most won't mind telling you. Learn, study and want it. Never complain.

(No kidding, that was considered life advice.) And they did. [See the recent article: ‘Follow Your Dreams’ and Other Terrible Career Advice - WSJ] Those people are trying to raise kids, and the kids see that even if they work hard like their grandparents who got engineering degrees and get paid well, all of their taxes will go to bad ends. In those 50 years I only made more than $25 K, six times, topping out at $47K. One of the reasons we left the USSA was because we could not afford to live in the country in which I served. It was the best move we made. We are living better now than we did in Pennsylvania.....on $24K yearly. Our furnished two bedroom, two bath apartment costs $560 monthly and includes electric, water, gas, building maintenance, internet, 24/7 guard and trash removal. Last year inflation was 1.35%. Our groceries for the two of us averages $238 monthly and our transportation cost averages $22 monthly. I think we will stay here.

Back when I was a kid my parents house was built new on 14 acre for 10,000 Australian pound, now worth over 350,000 dollars.
To cut to the chase we are in a cycle of inflation driven I believe by several factors, including banking, political, and engineered by corporation greed.
After the war there was plenty to go around and a much smaller population. This gave into the good times with plenty of jobs, much less red tape, and plenty of energy and wealth to find.
Fast forward 50 years from now, zero population growth, forecast to shrink dramatically... more jobs, less people, more empty housing, the golden years can return.

Corporations pay little to no taxes, no pensions except to upper management, utilize the infrastructure paid for by those who do pay taxes, then tell the workers that no one but themselves are responsible for their retirement, What a racket!

I’m sure I’m not the only person that thought about this at 17 years old and now with 4 retirement payments monthly, retired at 55 with 2 mo pymts, at 60 received another and SS AT 62, this was done with budgeting starting at 55. After WW II the US was on of the few industrialized nations to come out relatively unscathed, it was also by far the biggest economic power in the world. With little competition, a young skilled workforce, and a combination of good government programs and capitalistic expansion Americans became very wealthy for the next 25 years. By the 1970 things started to change. Europe was still rebuilding but well on its way to recovery, Japan was a rising industrial power, and a lot of other nations were starting to meaningly enter the world market. Some of these nations were granted a favorable trade status and began to import large amounts of goods to the US, the government cracked down on pollution and created massive regulations on businesses, the government established more and more social programs, and companies in the US began to outsource jobs by the 1980s, all the time more automation, cost cutting, and efficiency was being achieved by businesses. But the US was still wealthy and went into the 1990s strong and rode the tech boom in the 1990s. The Federal government had a large surplus in the 1990s, interest rates were high, the stock market was booming. But by the early 2000s the years of pressure from the afore mentioned trends began to take effect., especially with China and other nations running huge trade deficits with the US and US jobs having gone over seas for decades. The government began to run deficits, began massive stimulus and lowered interest rates to keep the economy going. The government began to look at the low inflation (do to cheap foreign imports), the housing boom and the stock market boom (do to abnormally low interest rates, outsourcing, speculation, creation of virtual monopolies ect.) as markers of economic success even though more and more people were finding it harder to live. Add to this decades of a growing drug abuse problem, a growing dependency of government handouts, a less educated population, a less motivated working population. Now the party is over and the bill has come do for five or six decades of abuse, job killing, low interest rates, reckless spending, and a whole host of other problems. People blame Boomers but they are no more to blame than any other generation, it took a long time to create this mess, it will take generations to clean up this mess, and that can only be done by a lot of hard hard work and wiser spending. With the current state of the US, I am not optimistic.

He was teaching us the communist manifesto and calling it the American constitution. I tried to inform my parents who didn’t believe me and called me a rebel. After ninth grade I dropped out because the education was gone, replaced by indoctrination. I made the right decision, I did well because older people taught me and I respected them. I have no debt and live well for now but realistically expecting a planned disaster. What’s happening now is a planned destruction and most of us have been played by the leftist long game. Communist when I was a kid boasted they would hang us with the rope we purchased on credit. Looking like they were right and young people now haven’t a clue what’s being done to them. People are still relying on ' fiat currency ' as a means of value and transaction in the future -eople saying " invest in the stock market " etc but the means of exchange , stocks for cash or vice versa is going to be a memory - if you dont hold it - you dont own it - you dont grow it - you dont raise it - you dont eat it ......

The current situation is not surprising considering the fact that so much of the money in this country is being held by such a few people. The working class has no more ability to impact the economy than the people living in tents.

Actually the vast majority of the wealth in this country is held by the middle class. Even tho the mega rich have a lot it’s small in comparison to how much is centered in the middle class. Politicians cry over the rich while robbing the majority in the middle.

I have no need to pay for satellite radio. I bought my new car in 2014. Between radio, a usb with music on it, cd drive, it's completely unnecessary.. just like being subscribed to all these streaming services. I cancelled them all and just rotate which one I want to watch this month. You want to raise prices and include ads? Fine. You went from getting subscription all year to only one or 2 months a year.

Beautiful views and realistic insights into the economy. Thanks for the video man! One thing I will say about college is that if it wasn’t for me graduating this semester (finally), Amazon wouldn’t have offered me a position as a manager. However, I understand the huge burden of student loan debt, and it’s simply not worth the massive cost unless you can find a cheap online college or something where you don’t have to be a slave to debt. Anything over $25,000 for a degree these days, I would question the value and long term return on investment. Especially these days with the internet and ability to learn information and new skills quickly.

Companies moved away from traditional pensions due to the increased complexity in managing funds, and their desire to reduce costs and transfer investment risk onto the employee. Just another way corporate America has shown that the they don't care about the employees that help them make billions and along with government backing the move from pensions, they have ruined the ability to retire.

In oct 2016 i bought a new truck for 29k, had my previous truck 20 years. I decided to be responsible and pay off said truck in 2.5 yrs on the 6 year loan. Then mid 2019 i set sights on a house but i thought i'll be responsible and save for a down payment first, i soon realised that house prices were going up faster than my 15k a year savings, 4 years later i took 60k to the table for 20% down on a house that 4 years ago sold for 60k less with 5% less rate.. makes me sick to my stomach, i wonder how many with student loans postponed to be responsible before purchasing a house only to be screwed just like me, i will refinance to a lower rate and bounce back but my road to the dream was a nightmare.

If you can tell me when these "lower rates" are coming, I can show you derivative financial instruments that will make you millions of dollars. Everyone's base case now is that interest rates "have" to come back down. If they come back down now, it'll only be as a result of a financial calamity. Stagflation is here....Fed won't admit it.

When I was growing up $100,000 was making it. You were a rich guy if you could get to 6 figures. I studied hard and worked hard and didn't party like the cool kids. I kept my head down. Got an engineering degree. My first job was working shifts and on call duties at a factory. I worked hard and was careful with my money. I have risen through the ranks and I have a house in the midwest, a wife, two kids, a white fence, and two dogs. I make good money but this inflation is killing us. I'm still saving for retirement and maxing things out for the future but we haven't been able to take a vacation in 5 years. We paid off our mortgage two years ago and the monthly payments we thought we would be saving have evaporated with the cost of things. It has gotten completely out of control. I have a brother in law who is in his late twenties and I feel so bad for the younger folks out there right now. He has been saving and saving and saving for a down payment on a house. The prices keep going up and so do the interest rates. He feels like he will never make it and he makes good money as a mechanic for FedEx. The American Dream is dead.
