This playthrough is easily my fav game grumps series ever. "You gotta hit him with the 1st shot". "Mm mm no ya don't" lmfaoo
Within the first two minutes of the game Arin chooses a difficulty not for intended for infants and Dan ops out of actually playing a multiplayer game. This series is off to a great start.
3:11 - And here we go.
It doesn't help that Arin's hand is shaking like he's got some neurological disease and the game was written with a larger screen and a gun prop in mind, and also that Arin has apparently no idea or experience of common tropes with old arcade cabinet coin op shooting games, either.
Dan telling him about aiming/shooting off screen to reload was a god send.
Like there is almost no lee-way on those hot boxes, like either you fire at the sprite or you don't hit. And in the arcade you had the tools to do it (even if it wasn't easy then either). Arin though seems used to console style 'aim assist', where you aim within the neighborhood of something and the game takes over and shoots it for you.
And I mean, I'm not bashing it, per say, they give you help to deal with the tools you have available. Not many people can shoot the pimiento out of an olive with 2 thumb sticks on a moment's notice, or be expected to.
But he's just shaking away firing and hoping that hit boxes just square up and expand out and collect bullets and the game's like, not even close to accepting that.
This series was absolutely amazing, yes.
