In fact, in his book The History of Florence, Machiavelli writes enough about Cesare Borgia to show consistency in his observations in The Prince. Not too mention his personal correspondences. When viewed in context these debunk the sataire hypothesis quite soundly. On another point. The speed at which this is read shows almost distain for the work. If you just wanted to get through it, without applying emphasis on the values, then why do the modern interpretation in the first place? It comes off as a high school project no one wanted to do and someone just wants a C on to get it over with. It's a shame really, this could have been truly wonderful.

I have not yet encountered or seen anyone with similar interpretation of my own. It teaches us about so many different things, to know the exact time to strike, the way to strike, the amount of force required.
