  • When pulling the engine on a car, it's a great time to look closely at all of its parts. Since this car spent most of its life in Pennsylvania, it's very important to take this time to check for rust and repair it if necessary. Pretty soon the V12 will be out and the V8 will be in!

Nice explanation of what you are doing as you dig deeper into this project. I am glad that you are doing this, and not me.

I hope you didn't get rid of the V12

I know you're thinking it's probably more of a pain in the ass than anything but they have those windows seals and they're pretty cheap. I intend on taking my windshield and rear window out because the window seals are both shot anyway and I want to do that before I paint the entire car... I know it is a lot of Labor removing the windshields but the seals are like roughly $125 each. And knowing what you put them back in your not going to have that problem anymore, I think it's worth it

good to see more of the JAG project. seems a very narrow footwell.

Yes, the XJS footwell is surprisingly narrow for such a big car. The outboard foot seems to need to go under the inboard leg. Even worse, the floor is so irregularly shaped, there is no really comfortable place for that foot. In spite of all this, I'm still considering buying one of these things.

Not good what you thinking of doing with replacing the engine. The fueling and ignition issue needs to be sorted out on that car and you will have a good running Jag-u-ar

The injection connecter cable is rotted that leads from the Lucas ignition module to the motor control box in th trunk and there is a MAP sensor vacuum line going from the engine all the way back to the engine control box in the trunk....please check! Also get some new ignition cables and spark plugs.
