    Dynaudio make some of the best sounding studio reference monitors I've ever heard. Awesome to see them in a BYD

    • @TallPaulTech
      @TallPaulTech  Před 7 měsíci +3

      Hopefully they'll be awesome once I have a decent sound source and amp driving them. At the moment as factory, they are truly pathetic in quality and volume. I'm hoping a good amp will change that.

    • @Animal_lives_matter
      @Animal_lives_matter Před 7 měsíci +2

      Something's not adding up - if the amp is limiting the audio quality, why would they use expensive Dynaudio drivers? Isnt cost cutting their whole reason for existence?
      It's possible the sound could still be shit with a new system if the issue is caused elsewhere. You cant just put a driver in a box and expect it to sound good. Im not an audio engineer but Ive done enough room EQing to know things can sound bad even with good speakers & amp. DAC needs to be good too, obviously. Shielded cabling - is EMI from the motor leaking into the signal? Any ground loops?

    Airbags are very dangerous when deployed in the wrong scenario. They should only be deployed for a roughly known weight moving a roughly known distance. The reason your cabling goes under the seat and is constructed in a way that would make it difficult to remove is to reduce the chances of something going wrong with this system without your being able to reliably detect it, such as having an inline plug that could be disconnected etc.

    Awesome video, binged your channel after I realised your content was very different to the typical BYD Seal reviews out there. Great skills and love to tinker like you :)
    1. Did you investigate pulling your dashcam power from the existing wiring looms for the BYD camera? It sits in the housing behind the rear mirror.
    2. The ADAS system also sits in the same housing, might be easier to just disconnect it from there rather than removing the fuse. Some people plan to upgrade the ADAS unit with better ones, apparently they're all standard and compatible and may provide better self driving capabilities.
    3. What sounds sources do you use to play your music? I heard volume is very low only for some sources due to software limitation (e.g Android Auto) and that the system is actually loud enough to hurt if using the correct sound source.
    I would love to hear your opinion about the Seal re: fit, finish, and drivability in a new video

      It’s a Lithium Iron Phospate (LFP) battery - as far as I know, it’s the longest lasting and safest modern battery chemistry that is currently in use. Will likely last the lifetime of the car - much better than what anyone out there is offering in my opinion.

      @@davidc_5 but when lfp has a thermal rundown it produces explosive gases. So if you are unlucky it might be a big fire

      I figured it must have something to do with charging, because it said CCS on it, which kind of gave a clue. I didn't want to just say something I wasn't sure of though.

    Only an Aussie would know it’s fucking hot in AU at the moment, so a suit jacket and Tshirt is uncomfortable, but the tear down is a pair of shorts. Hey it was 51c or 129F in my car last week, I reckon He is doing this ad midnight to avoid the heat. 😂, subscribed as I am keen on the Seal, but not convinced China builds a good EV.

      Mate, it seems a pretty good car. I mean, I was talking with a friend who's into Euro cars, and he said most of their internals come from China anyway these days, so what really is the difference? We'll see over time, but right now I'm liking it. The best part of it has to be the seats, hands down. I heard the BYD designer is come ex-European designer anyway which goes a long way to explaining that.

      Hi, not sure byd quality, but components coming from china Vs china company components is not really the same. I think majority people are afraid china company try to use cheap quality parts or save money on safety part inside the car. European car can get stuff from china but the quality depend on what they pay for. China itself can product high quality part but whether China company using it or not is another story.

      @@TallPaulTechyes it's the former head Audi designer Wolfgang Egger. The fun thing I found while researching is that Teslas made in China were highly desirable due to better build quality (panel gaps, creaks, etc).
