    While I haven't tested it yet, that's your Automatic wipers. You have to turn that on and also in conjunction with your left stalk, choose one of four settings. All of this is in the manual page 68. I guess you could test it out by spraying water on your windshield with the correct settings on?

    I love your video. Thank you. I'm in Thailand it's so hot I found the AC in the seal very poor, difficult to get it cool enough and impossible to adjust the air vents direct onto the driver. I'm going to have to add a USB fan and stick it on the dash near the vent forcing air onto me. It's a bit annoying having to do this on my new car

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective Před 5 měsíci +2

      Did you know on the air con screen on the infotainment screen, you can touch on the air vents on the screen and pull it to whichever direction you want the air con to blow? It will set the air con blowing mode to Focus and blow at you. The other thing you can do is to attach the sun shade to block sun from glass roof. Also there is an option in vehicle settings to set the air con to prioritise the air con to cool more of the cabin than the battery. Hope these helps

    More than tips and tricks about particular features, I would like to understand more about the "mindset" of an EV owner. Do they have to make adjustments to live with an EV, do they have to think or plan differently before they go out, are there things they cannot do at particular times because the EV is not charged sufficiently?
    With a combustion-engine car, the argument is that you go out when you want to go out because you rarely have to think about where to get petrol if you run low. With an EV supposedly you lose that flexibility and freedom. Is that real or theoretical but not real? Did you have to make adjustments?

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective Před 5 měsíci

      Hey @woofinu, so nice to hear from you again. Yes I do know many of us would like to know how does it feel switching over from petrol ICE to electric cars. To be honest, I myself is still learning and stumbling. I am still understanding my (range anxiety) feeling, and wondering if I am worrying too much. "Oh it's down to 30%, can I still go to that place which is 40km away?" I am also researching the different types of charging options and stations available in my area. I just tried out a DC fast charger and realised that is such a luxury. DC Fast charger = 60 minutes from 35%-100%. BYD slow charger using my house power plug = 3 nights from 30% - 100%.
      Ya the "feeling" and "mindset" driving an EV is really different. With driving feeling, petrol engine "driving" the car and electric motor "pushing" the car is a world of difference too. I am still wondering how do I express those different feelings over video. 😄

    • @woofinu
      @woofinu Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@SkyPerspective I think it would help to discuss any actual impact because non-owners can speculate but don't know if problems are real or imagined. There are 2 scenarios I'd like to consider:
      First is day-to-day: Can you start with a battery at 100% on Monday morning, and go through one entire week of normal activities (work, taking kids to school, shopping, going to nearby entertainment or restaurants), and charge only at home at night, and have the battery back at 100% next Monday morning? Basically can you go steady state with only home charging at night, or do you need charging at work or at a fast-charging station to supplement?
      The second scenario is when you make a long trip. I can accept that during the trip you might have to charge outside, but do you have to plan ahead BEFORE the trip? Let's say you begin your trip on Saturday. Do you have to not drive on Friday and let your car charge one full day so you have enough battery for your Saturday trip? I would consider that a major adjustment, not being able to drive on Friday. It's not a showstopper but something I have to keep in mind.

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective Před 5 měsíci

      @@woofinu
      Your scenario 1:
      I pump my Honda Civic full tank and I can do all those activities you mentioned, to work, do school runs, buy groceries, etc for about 1.5 weeks with that full tank. A full tank of my Honda Civic gives me 540km. With my electric car, I get about 520km on 100% charge. The issue is I won't let my electric car run down to 15% and use all of it's 520km because charging it back up to 100% takes time, unlike 5 mins at a petrol kiosk. So this is what I plan, but have not tested. Instead of 1.5 weeks for my Civic, I plan to use my BYD Seal from 100% down to 40% for one week and charge 2 - 3 nights back to 100%. And if it's too slow, I will drive to a 50kW DC Fast charging station which will "fill up" 30% to 100% in an hour.
      As for scenario two, yes the charging network for your country/town needs to be good. In Australia, they are still building the infrastructure of EV charging because in the desert, they can't get electricity grid powerful enough to supply the electricity and solar takes forever. I would not drive long distance (1000km or more) away from my home in my electric car just yet. Now, you are hearing this from a hermit, as far as I know others have drove between cities like Sydney and Melbourne without any issues.

    • @woofinu
      @woofinu Před 5 měsíci

      @@SkyPerspective For me it doesn't matter if I have to add petrol to an ICE vehicle every 5 or 8 days. I add when it's low, and since stations are usually easy to find, I don't need to plan ahead.
      Same for charging an EV at home at night. Whether I have to do that 3 nights a week or every night doesn't matter because it doesn't change my plans or activities. But if I have to not drive an EV for a day, or if I have to go to a charging station and wait 2 hours while the EV charges, that would be a real "interference" that I would have to think about. That would be a good topic for one of your future videos.

      @narutokunn subscription? I am not familiar with Tesla. Do you mean we must have an account with Tesla before we can login to our Tesla car to drive it? If this is true, then it's pretty risky. Cyber crime is prevalent these days. If our account got hacked, we lose our Tesla too.
      For BYD case, I don't have to register any account with BYD if I don't want to, just use the car key to drive the car. Account registration is only needed if we want to use the BYD app as an extra way to control our byd car.
