I think if someone knows how you look they wouldn't assume you suddenly got a fat stomach on your relatively skinnier body, unless you fluctuate in weight a lot and you have a general level of loose skin and fat deposits around your body, then it would be harder to tell.

What’s the offense to the question? There’s no logic behind being offended. You’re either pregnant or not. It’s a normal question of situational awareness of others.

One time I didn’t realize I was gaining weight until a sweet neurodivergent lady I knew came up to me excitedly and asked if I was having a baby. When I said I wasn’t she looked disappointed and said kindly, “that’s okay, some day”. She was such a beautiful person that I didn’t feel a negative type of way at all and was grateful for unintentional cue to make some changes 😂
Shows good character on your part. To not take it personally, to focus on the good part of it. To understand the context and the intention rather than making it a big deal for your ego. The world would be a better place if everyone learned how to do that more consistently. Hope you're happy!

I experienced a similar embarrassing moment with my step mom 🙄 We were in the store and bumped into my Language Arts teacher and my idiotic step mom went to congratulate her and asking how far along she was!
