This was my firs time ever playing a witcher game and it was a great experience going for the platinum! Looking forward to playing the witcher remake when that comes out!

For those about to attempt this
1. Always use Quen
2. Use side quests, Contracts to over level
When in doubt... Quen
3. Craft Witcher Gear
4. Skill Alchemie
Use oils and potion
People skip that like it's not gonna help them
Personally, I never used Quen in my “Death March”, I just overloaded my AP on Axii and igni, Axii for Dialoge and to create a minion, and Igni because the fire damage at later levels can melt bosses. However, my strat is due to the fact that I’ve played over 200+ hrs across the PS4/5 and XBX version with my max level getting up to 150 after playing New Game Plus twice including DLCs. Especially if you manage to get Aerondight in the Blood and Wine DLC, i promise you you will never need another Silver Sword again.

The Death March difficulty is a must have. I recommend playing this game on the hardest difficulty even if it's your first time cause it makes you prepare for battles and just makes winning so much rewarding and satisfying. You actually have to brew potions and use the right gear instead of just clicking till the enemy's health bar reaches 0.
Unless your bad, like me. I play on the lower difficulties if not the lowest, use the grandmater bear set had a pretty good build for staying alive and. It wasnt challenging but i was by no means breezing theough it. Loved the game nonetheless.
@@ThePresidentofMars no shame in that everybody can play how they want and which way they have the most time. Some people are hell bent on playing everything hard than telling others to do so too
I love both, when I play a game, including the witcher, I play my first playthrough for the story on a normal or easy difficulty, just enjoy the world and lore any learn controls and stuff; on a ng+ or just another playthrough i do it on the hardest difficulty to see what both worlds offer, very fun, only half of my 1k hours in The Witcher 3 are gwent ;)
Not necessarily, i played through the game on deathmarch and all i had to do is always craft the griffin gear on level, never used any other equipment, just until i got it the first time.
Never brew a single potion, and all i did was fast attack, and dodge. literally that easy. the whole game can be completed with this single method, fist fights, boss battles, any fight really. Also always completing all available sidequests on your level makes the game trivial as you get so overpowered for the main quests its ridiculous :D
but it was still one of the best RPGs i ever played.

I'm replaying the game on death match 2nd time now, i did a run on PS4 before and now doing a next gen deathmarch on PC run and I'm still having a challenge, haven't crafted any of the grandmaster gear or using any specific builds so the potions are critical for now. Also if you're on PC there are many difficulty mods or overhauls that might interest you. Also sorry for the bad English im kinda drunk rn
Platinuming this game was honestly pretty fun. I did it on my first playthrough too. It never got boring because all the quests and the content is so fun. I did have to make an actual list on paper of all the missable trophies relating to quests and gwent cards.
The fact that that you fought the last gauntlet of bosses on Death March! difficulty with no upgraded Witcher gear, a broken sword, not using potions or oils, and presumably underleveled shows that you truly have what it takes to be an IRL Witcher.

Well that's his problem, it's pretty clear he was only in it for the trophies and didn't take time to explore the world, try different builds and potions and finding the proper gear

You would’ve had a much easier time on death march if you actually repaired your weapons and armor and used all the upgrades at your disposal but good job anyways impressive
I cant help but feel he Was just rushing through the main Story and Skipped all the cutscenes 😂 also got the bad ending
@@Ass4ssin007 Yeah you could see that he skipped everything. Also if you use a potion build and crafted armor and sword it gets very easy, even on death march.

1) grind till you have griffin armour
2) get the supercharged glyph skill
3) get the exploding shield and active shield and quen discharge skills
4) enjoy
griffin armour boosts sign intensity and yrden gives +100% sign intensity. active shield with quen discharge reflects 30% of dealt damage back to enemy and heals you with the leftover 70%. best playstyle i’ve found so far in the game.
I remember struggling to defeat Caranthir on Death March. Must have taken me at least several attempts until I started rolling instead of doging. Rolling is definitely superior to doging for this fight.
It's always great to see how others tackle this platinum.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is a masterpiece of a game. The story, the gameplay, the mechanics that help you on the harder difficulties. Like certain oils on your silver blade
Alright editing this to clear some misunderstandings over what I originally said
Witcher 3 is probably one my favorite games if not my favorite, but its imo its not enough to be a masterpiece, a bit too many issues that shouldnt go without mentioning, I still think its a really great game nontheless.
But issues like the weird controls, clunky movement, these really get annoying while in combat, the crafting and alchemy system when being a new player is very overwhelming. And the bugs and the very poor performance in the Ray Tracing mode of the game on Consoles, and if you’re on PC if you dont have a good enough graphics card you might have a lot more issues than console players, cdpr released some fixes recently but the problem isnt all gone.
Also the update kinda messed up the NG+ mode being a bit unbalanced which was not in issue in the previous versions.
But aside that everything else is enjoyable. Not gonna go in further details over the positives cuz its just uneeded and I already made this long enough than it should’ve been, I hope that clears some stuff. But again this game is 8 years old. And for a game that obviously has been around for a while still stands to be enjoyable.

Had a blast revisiting this game. Absolute masterpiece for what it is. Already put like 15 plus hours into playing Gwent as I just can't get enough of it. I for one however, cannot put myself through the grind to get the platinum a second time. Love the game, but I'm all about getting enjoyment out of it this time and not trying to put myself through something I already did once. Although... it would look nice seeing 2 witcher 3 platinums on one account
Just a little tip because not many people know this: On the Ofieri mage fight, you can actually just equip your gear back on. Also if he's too hard you can just run away and come back later. You see the Ofieries camping there when you come back some days later.

Just finished the blood and wine dlc recently (absolutely magnificent) after finishing the main game and hearts of stone dlc years ago and starting blood back then too, death march here I come finally!

I’ve gotten the platinum for this game before. It’s definitely one I would recommend researching tips and tricks on each trophy before playing if you intend to go for the plat. There’s actually a few trophies you can get in just the tutorial section. If you can find the easiest way to fudge some of the grindier trophies it’s not a hard platinum it’s just time consuming. I would also recommend a build on death march that refuels your adrenaline points as often as possible. I run with a sword and potions build, pay attention to how everything works together and after the first few character levels the game difficulty shouldn’t even feel that different than normal.
You have legit inspired me to achieve my 50th platinum on psn! I can’t believe that I’ve now reached that amount in such a short amount of time. Thanks for being a inspo to myself. You also inspired me to follow my dreams and start my own gaming channel which has now reached 75subs. So over the moon about it and can’t wait for more great things to come. Thank you 🧡

Yeah I got every single trophy on one playthrough. The PSN profiles guide is wrong when it says two playthroughs.

This is actually extremely impressive. One of the main reasons is how you're not even using any of the mastercrafted armour or weaponry. The healing and damage potions aren't enhanced either so that must have made the game even more difficult. Would have probably made a lot of these fights easier if you did some grinding on the side. Regardless, it's still very impressive!

I'm new to your channel and I love watching your videos while im finishing my RDR2 platinum. Big gratz on Witcher 3 platinum :) Death March is actually really easy. You can keep dodging as much as you want and use Quen sign before engaging enemies again. Also it looks like you was not using the Tawny Owl potion to make your stamina regenerate faster, so you can use signs in combat much more often. Also your Swallow potion is not upgraded, which makes the normal one very weak later in the game. You could also lower your difficulty after completing the game while going for the clean up.
@Rob305 I guess you're right. But skilled is the right word. You just have to know when to attack and when to dodge. Also game does kind of a lousy job at telling you to craft AND upgrade you potions. You have to research things or figure out on your own. I admit that my first death March playthrough was nowhere near as easy as my 2nd and 3rd. I platinumed the game twice and did all achievements on Xbox aswell.
Upgraded witcher gears makes the game so god damn easy, its just too op. Which is why they got nerfed recently.

For me, this platinum was the most fun I had with any platinum. Yes, it has it's tedious moments and worse, missiable trophies. But everything else was just so engaging and sucks you into the world and the story. The gwent was also a surprisingly good mini game that has its own excitement and has its own quest. Beat it about 5 times before the platinum and 3 times after the platinum. I can easily say it's my favorite game ever.
Just recently got the platinum on ps5 upgrade as I had the platinum on ps4. One of my favourite games ever. Absolutely love the game. Some trophies are tedious , like master marksman and enemy of my enemy but regardless, it's a fun platinum journey. Congrats on your plat.
Congrats on the platinum. 6 years ago did pretty much the same on the PC, starting on Death March and getting all the achievements (DLCs included) and discovering all the question marks. According to Steam it took me 168 hours, so I assume because of the gear and build you were slowed down. Definitely recommend you playing the DLCs!

I have two platinums for this game. The standard version for PS4 that I received the next-gen update for free on PS5, the game of the year edition with DLC's for PS4 as well and now, I'm going for the third platinum for the next-gen version on PS5 :) It's nice to explore all of what this game has to offer. It was the best game I ever played in my life and going for the third platinum really shows it. You were my inspiration for Crash Bandicoot 4's platinum and I'm a mild collector now thanks to you. Was fun to get achievements, mostly. Most are gotten just playing through but for me the most annoying was the arrow deflect, Goliat eye and Iris' nightmare fight and of course the Gwent tournament with the very powerful enemy decks.

I split the trophies between two playthroughs, and Death March was way more doable on New Game + where you were able to have a well put together build. Also, your content is great mate keep up the good work!
