- Helldivers 2 is some of the most fun I've had playing game since Elden Ring. This game is WAY better than it has any reason to be and I want to share some of my funniest and best moments before I post my review! Enjoy and KEEP THE FIGHT GOING!!

Bruh, the trees are speaking binary meme is a vibe. One second, it's quiet the next you're fighting half the continent with three other people.
Nothing but darkness and red dots approaching.
Dropped expecting a squad fill and no dice. Decided I’ve got this. I extracted but a piece of me is still on that planet. After I picked my heart up from the floor I check my watch and stress levels through the roof

Take note. You DONT wanna stand your ground in a fight with the automatons. Hit the objective and anything big like a tank or Hulk and once done, disengage and GTFO immediately from the fight so you can do th either objectives and any POI’s without getting bogged down
Arrowhead really caught lightning in a bottle with Helldivers 2
between helldivers 1 and HD2, this is probably the biggest glowup ive ever seen with a game.

They were so happy seeing the player number go up and then began to immediately panic when it didn't stop because they realized they weren't prepared for this many players
And still their servers are holding up relatively well compared to Triple A games with much higher budgets of maintenance
I don't know if it's thanks to my timezone, but I never had a single server issue since launch.

Keep in mind, this is AFTER they nerfed the Automotans. They used to call in even more troops. Tier 3 bot missions were as tough as current day tier 7 bug

To me this Halo ODST mixed with terminator and starship troopers, love it.
Right on the money. These were my exact thoughts and that’s why I love it so much.
Accurate. And throw in a healthy dose of Warhammer 40K too; bot "Hulks" are literally just space marine Dreadnoughts, and the Termanids are a mix of SST Arachnids and W40K Tyranids.
All in all? A nearly perfect combination of stuff.

Honestly I recommend people play EDF. I think Helldivers is more western, but god EDF is so fun for the raw sandbox.

Recently hit level 50 playing almost always against Automaton here.
To do the Essential Personel Evacuate you need to drop the team halfway to the edge of the map. Bring as much firepower as you can - Mortar Sentry essential for drawing in as much attention as possible. Dropships need to keep dropping on the distraction squad.
1 guy has to sneak into base and start opening doors after dropships are dropping off troops elsewhere, far away from base.

Helldivers 2 is genuinely one of the most fun co-op experiences to come out of the last couple years, it’s such a breath of fresh air with all the other crappy live service games. The devs seem to actually care about their community and want to improve their game which is always great to see. The gameplay loop is addicting and satisfying and blowing bugs up with orbital strikes is always amazing. I can’t stress how good this game is lmao. If you haven’t had the chance to pick it up and have the opportunity, please get helldivers 2 already!
My only gripe about the game is my inability to play it since I'm on xbox and can't afford anything that can play it

The starship trooper halo-ness draws you in, then as you move to the harder difficulties it becomes a rush and the game becomes addictive. Similar to winning boss fights in souls games

A friend of mine convinced me to get this. He said depending on the faction you fight its either like Starship Troopers or Terminator. He had me at hello.

Heres something interesting and somewhat related. An ex-343 employee has revealed that there was an ODST Themed Game that was very similar to helldivers 2 in design being proposed. It was shot down, not once but multiple seperate times. And seeing the reception to Helldivers 2. I'd say Microsoft and 343 missed a huge goldmine.
Gamers were robbed by shortsighted execs. And Xbox players are still being robbed of the experience. It's a straight up travesty that they never greenlit that ODST game
I hate how they refuse to do something fun with the franchise, they hace everything to do a battlefront style game, it would awesome, but no, more coatings it's what we get :'v

Probably, if we're giving the benefit of the doubt, the people in charge knew Halo's popularity stemmed a LOT from its multiplayer and story, and the popularity of Master Chief. A Halo-universe PvE only game that doesn't feature the Chief likely would struggled to find success.

It went exactly as well as you expected it to go
Helldivers 2 is the only game that has had me hooked enough to play late into the night in a long while. Even with some optimisation issues and occasional crashes it has not gotten in the way of the great experience this game has to offer.

This game would've taken up all my free time back when I was in high school... and still had friends to play this with. This would've been the perfect LAN party game.
I know exactly how you feel, still if you find some time its great fun to drop in with a random squad and play a 5-10 minute mission.

So if it hasnt already been said yet, those personnel extraction missions are bugged due to a recent patch. Ordinarily, the bots may have 2 dropships, then you have around 30-45 seconds to kill them before the next wave. As they are now, its nonstop and almost impossible on higher difficulties without using a stealth/distraction strategy
I literally bought it yesterday, I haven’t had this much fun playing a co op game in a very long time

the Braveheart line of automatons coming for you guys is amazing. This game just has so many good moments that are meme-able. I haven't had this much fun playing games since like highschool playing Halo 2 custom games with friends. This has brought back that feeling of gaming that i haven't had in yearssss.

So glad this series is getting the love, memes, and attention it deserves! Series transitioned from tactical isometric stick shooter to a FPS horror [thousand yard stare]. They need to release bosses soon for the real challenge.

I love how much personality the game has. Even the loading screens and mission failures have spirit.
All of you holding out against the Automatons remind me of that scene from The Clone Wars, I think it’s Crisis at the Heart where it’s the Clones holding off against the near endless forces of the Droids and the last dude with the Minigun holding out till death

Helldivers is pretty sick. I like when you tried to drop an orbital strike on a silverback gorilla and instead blew up and burned a bridge with an unrelated third party. It may have cost you a hell of a lot of credibility and makes you look incompetent, inept, emotional and borderline sociopathic, but at least you got that gorilla right? Right?

Totally unrelated comment, I just saw that Command & Conquer Renegade has a listing on the steam store. We must notify the Acting Mail Man of this.
So for that extract researchers mission, me and my friends discovered that the bots only spawn where the players are getting action, so if you drop outside the extract area and ONE person with stealth armor goes into the researcher base, they can lay beside a button and save them. For Democracy brothers and sisters

I got teamed up with a bunch of level 40+ players last night.. They treat Orbitals and Eagle strikes like a normal frag grenade.. I can't even get annoyed at them, it's so funny it's addicting
For extracting personnel mission vs bots its good to have 1 person in light armour hiding near the console in between uses. The rest of the team just blind fire to grab agro, thin out the bots and stick away from the rout the npc take. Even leave the complex and go into the trees/rocks for cover. Not a 100% win rate but it really helps when the bots don't accidentally agro on the npc by running into them.
impossible in pugs but if you have a premade able to talk it can work surprisingly well.
The escort quest on the bot planets are insane. Sometimes even on easy mode they just keep spawning!
79.4 hours on the game here. I have been waiting for him to deliver a Helldivers 2 video, and I'm so glad he did. I've been playing Overwatch 2 and this game had the grandiose to rip me away from it. I had 1218 hours on Overwatch 2 by the way.

This game ripped me away from destiny 2. I'm glad my main addiction has been quelled for now. Hopefully they keep this game fresh for a while so I can fully kick my addiction to D2
If there's one thing Arrowhead does right, it's idiotic fun with co-optional games. They're the people behind the first Magicka too (but not the other Magicka games).

I might have been playing this game too much. Last night I dreamt that me and the squad were actually Helldivers, except we weren’t given armor or weapons besides what we brought ourselves. I was trying to kill bugs with a Winchester .243 and it was terrifying.

Cool foods for thought, not every sky is a sky box. There are WONDEROUS things you can do to your game now that allow for super realistic atmospheres, that actually won't contain a skybox. Particle systems, flat cards, animated processes, swimming textures, they all work together to create elaborate environments!
Don't get me wrong, I thought everything in the air was a sky box too. But actually nowadays you can use sooo much more, especially with node systems now? It's insane!
