    This channel is absolutely excellent. He presents a completely unique perspective on learning and it helps. It’s been successful for me. Thank you for the hard work!

    Wow, great approach to mtb fundamentals I really think It's all about feel. Getting into a flow state, balanced body and mindstate. Keep up the great work man.

    Thanks for the torso placement ideas. No one else ever mentions that.

    Wow. I love your unique perspective. So many good things. Love the torso two tire tip. I talk to myself when I ride and I’m using this today! I also love how you show pro riders and how they jump with a lot of speed. Had a friend who does this and I couldn’t figure out why he wasn’t popping and now I know he would have been in heaven if he did on black diamond runs at Killington because of his speed. Also love the timing practice idea by going slower and nailing down the timing on table tops before hitting larger jumps. To improve I would love if you could draw lines on stills of videos to show perfect torso. This would help me as I video myself and then I can see difference between me and them. Thanks again. Soooooo good!

    Love the good advices on this channel ❤️
    I'm 36 and affraid of small jumps, because the lack of technique... It came to me late, hope i'll have enough time this summer to train my jumps skills, and hit some small doubles. And yeah, in my place i dont have table tops, just doubles wich make my knees shake 😁

      I used (still do) to ride vertical stuff that people would faint just looking at the bottom but jumps are always scary, 20+ yrs of dirtbiking and I still get the weak legs on a new track with huge doubles 😂

    Having mortgage brain now, when I approach a big feature my goal is to be able to go to the office on Monday and type with both hands. Of course, that means there are a lot of features that I leave for “next week”.

    • @finroddd

      And this is totally ok. IMO it is much much better to skip a feature than to get injured.

      Everyone has it to some degree. I skip plenty of features and still have a balance of challenging things too

    This season I am hoping to incorporate my torso/core control while jumping and land front wheel first(ever-so-slightly). I believe your techniques will help me progress!

    If you don't have trails, jumping curbs sideways is pretty useful for practicing front wheel tracking at small scale. You can easily manage entry speed and it's not that consequential.

      @mountainbikeacademy  Před měsícem +1

      Great point! The sideways part I didn’t mention in the curb cruising vid I did, so that’s a solid suggestion. Appreciate it!

    I'm coming back to riding after a lot of illness last year and have lost a lot of confidence on more kicky jumps. Currently trying smaller, predictable ones and remembering what my body needs to do. Need to build back fitness as well as confidence, and still have chronic fatigue to contend with, but I'm loving being out on the bike again.

    Im 54 and have come to mountain biking late in life but from an amateur mx background back in my 20's. Jumps i manage best when relaxed and as you say youre pushing into the ramp and resisting the gforces but the timing of the pop eludes me 9 out of 10. I think for me there is so much to think about tanking at the face of a jump and most tracks i ride i guess me and the group i ride with rely on the speed.of the track but that only works where the track is well designed and some times the speed required is daunting in its self. I will endeavour to find a jump i like and practice timing but as said the timing is different on each jump. I guess more input on timing would be useful please

    Hey bud, which Intense bike are you riding? Any Cons to the bike?

    • @mountainbikeacademy
      @mountainbikeacademy  Před měsícem

      Primer. I’m selling it - just not my cup of tea. Really liked the suspension (ohlins), the build quality was good.
      Steering felt a bit vague, but what I didn’t like was the flex in the frame. They design it in for traction but it’s a 140mm rear travel bike. Made it just feel off. I’ll probably stick to Santa Cruz and get a 5010 and a raaw Madonna.
      For context: tons of people love the primer. I think it’s a steal for the price. I prefer bikes with snappy, absolute telepathic feedback. I’m not a racer looking for .1 seconds or comfort. I want it to be agile.
      So definitely a good bike, GREAT for the money but not exactly what I’m looking for.
      Plus I can get whatever I want within reason so I’m going to be picky!

    I just look for a place where there aren't too many kids who make it a mission to ensure I see how much better they can do the same features.

    Over 40 mountain bikers of the internet listen up. Do you want to progress your riding? Ride lots, like 10hrs or more a week. Ride your dirt jumper. Do shit that scares you on a regular basis. Most important you must accept this one fact: YOU MUST BLEED TO IMPROVE

      @@LaurentiusTriarius haha I said at least! So many dudes only ride a couple hours on the weekend and stick to xc trails on their enduro bikes then wonder why they’re so intimidated by drops and jumps and steeps. Fortunate to have access to so much trail diversity in Reno/Tahoe. I have friends in Santa Cruz where I used to live that smoke me on the UCSC steeps but when they come up here it’s a different kind of gnarly 🤠

      @@Harrisonstafford you sound like a fun guy. Dude is talking about doing bigger drops, jumping your bike over gaps, hitting corners faster, riding technical sections faster, doing manuals, etc. You think you’re not gonna ever crash?? You think you’re gonna improve without a significant investment of your time? You sound like a scaredy cat that doesn’t want to hear what you’re in for. Stick to the gravel bike and training wheels buddy mtb not for you 🤡
