- 1987 Harley-Davidson Sportster bobber on a Paughco rigid frame. Originally an 883 EVO engine bored to a 1200. Bike has a Bassani exhaust, S&S Super E carb, a 3.1 gal king tank, Harley drag bars, Softail Deluxe risers, Sinister solo seat, smooth teardrop tool kit and added chrome.

Hey man I’ve got a 98 having trouble with the carb jetting and whatnot. I have the same pipes & Arlen Ness 90 degree big sucker air filter.. bike runs like a turd right now. What jets & or carb & what spark plug gap if you know?

@@98sporty75 No worries, thanks for the compliment :) I honestly don't know what the jets were on this carb, the S&S was on it when I got it and the carb had to be worked on every season. So mine may have had the same issue as yours as I never had it rebuilt, just cleaned. I did end up using the HD Screamin' Eagle plugs for it though and replaced them every year since it ran pretty rich.

I currently have a 1987 sportster 883 hugger project and I was wondering if you could tell me some good places to get parts. I am looking to replace the entire shifter mechanism assembly inside the transmission and don't really know the best place for parts parts
+dakota dowd For me eBay is the best place for Harley parts older than 2004 since Harley has since discontinued the older years from their catalog. There's a lot of sellers parting out older bikes all the time on there and you just have to keep searchin'! :)

+SouthernxxBully Thank you! The rear whitewall was a Continental Conti Milestone but last season I put on a new set of Shinko 777's front and back.
+jamzcl how are the shinkos? I've heard good and bad things about em so I'm on the fence.
+SouthernxxBully So far I like them and they're great for the money. Keeping whitewalls clean is a commitment and I don't miss cleaning that rear tire :)
