- It's Italian-made and has the feel of a Vespa, but the Lepton electric scooter is a plug-in. We visit EV body shop Thunderstruck Motors for a peak at this electric motorbike. Original story here: faircompanies.com/videos/view/...

How does this have no comments?? This is *awesome*! I'd love to see older Vespas -- best classic styling... and with the most eco un-friendly motors -- become candidates for these conversions. What a neat project, guys!
Atala Lepton , saluti dall' Italia .
When you say do not change driving modes while moving, do you really mean while moving, or while accellerating? Do you really have to stop the bike to change modes? I'm considering buying the ZEV 7100.
how much are batteries for this i bought one and i need to get batteries for it ,and can i rig it so i only need one battery?
At times the engine won't start and i have to wait a bit to try it again...
Can you help me with this Please?
I have a one-owner, really nice 2001 Lepton that I tried to sell on Ebay and locally this Summer. No luck. If you want a nice example of this scooter, let me know here.
The manual says to only switch modes when stopped or moving VERY slowly, IIRC. I never chanced doing it while moving. The ZEV 7100 is certainly faster than the Lepton! Although the overall quality of the parts is more uneven - Chinese parts vs Italian.
Nice.
nice
hey lefty biker do you still want to sell your elect vespa,, how much do you want for it,,
Why not use lithium ion batteries??
Oh, and if you do acquire one, *do not* change driving modes while moving. The guy who made this vid is either uninformed or very lucky. "Shifting" on the fly will most likely fry the very expensive controller. He's also wrong about it not having any oil to change. There is gear oil in the rear hub that needs to be changed every couple of years or so.
