      how would you feel if somebody copied your exact look of your apartment?

    One thing I would add is that I feel safer living alone as a woman in a studio. I like that I can see the front door and my kitchen and bathroom all at once.

    I have lived in my studio for over 6 years and adore it! I came from a 3 bedroom house, so seriously decluttered. I love my apartment x

    Stef.....Your reasons for choosing your studio are the same reasons my husband and I chose a smaller home to retire in. Financially free, we can travel, go fishing and camping, enjoy children and grandchildren, (and all that comes with that), and enjoy the theater.....I have been using your tips in my home, so awesome! Have a great day. That kitty is just so much fun!!!!!! Linda

      Aw thank you Linda!! So glad you've been using my tips, and you clearly totally understand where I'm coming from when talking about the freedom that comes with having a smaller living situation! Less responsibility and more room for the life experiences you want to have ☺️

    I'm not sure if she's going to say this reason (I'm only halfway through)... The next step up from a studio apartment (cost-wise) is NOT a big, roomy, one-bedroom. The next step up from a studio apartment is often a rather small, boxed-in one-bedroom, that sometimes doesn't have much more square feet of space than a studio - except that with the studio, the space is all in one area, so it's more open and light and airy. Whereas that small, boxy one-bedroom can feel very cut-up, tiny and closed in - even a bit claustrophobic. I'll take a nice, open plan studio over a tiny, boxed in, cut-up one-bedroom any day of the week!

    • @ModaMisfit
      @ModaMisfit  Před 3 lety +2

      That can definitely be very true! It depends on the specific apartments, but studios really can feel more spacious and open!

    Fantastic video! Another great thing about the studio life to consider: many people who are in their 50s or older are tired of big house living, having too much crap, etc and are ready to spend their time living instead of maintaining a house and belongings. A studio with very few belongings is refreshing and inspiring. Keep the great videos coming...

    You make some really great points about the BIG advantages of studio life!
    I especially appreciate your reminder that cleaning chores are inherently quick.
    Also, having less room to fill with objects, things, and stuff forces one to make good decisions, and enjoy "owning your space" instead of "stuff owning you".

    Studio apartments are amazing! They are cheep, and they are perfect for one person or even two! The only thing that sucks is storage space though.

    • @MM-Iconoclast
      @MM-Iconoclast Před 3 lety +2

      In a studio, tall shelves are the bomb! They take up almost zero floor space and can hold so much stuff! You can get 36"x72" 5-shelf units on Amazon for about 50 dollars each - and they come in light brown, dark brown and white. And even better, you can line up a few next to each other and it looks like a built-in wall of bookcases!

    I have a 720 sq ft apartment and I love it so much!! Honestly it’s the perfect amount of space for me. I used to live in a 375 sq studio before here and I was okay with it too ( but I live with my bf so it felt a little crowded)

    I thought I would love living in a studio, so I turned my 540 sq ft one bedroom apt into a studio-plus, with the intention of turning tge bedroom into a gym/office/home theater. I moved my bed into the living room and kept my sofa seating where it was. I liked it a lot. The problem was noise from the neighbors. My across the hall neighbor woke me up when he left at 6 am and the downstairs neighbor with the stereo, I couldn't take it anymore, so I took my bedroom back. I love studio living as a concept, but I know now I could never do it unless I had cement walls and floors.

    Desperately Seeking advice I to live in a studio and I just fostered a small kitten any words of inspiration on studio living with a kitties that goes wild when I'm trying to sleep?

    • @ModaMisfit
      @ModaMisfit  Před 3 lety +1

      Aw I love that you're fostering a kitten, Tamara! I adopted my cat Helo when she was 1 year old, so I don't have experience with a kitten in a studio, but I would recommend making sure you play with the kitten A LOT during the day so they get worn out by night! You may also have to resign yourself to some kitten-like behavior while you try to sleep, because at the end of the day, a kitten's gonna play. 😊

      Aw I'm sending tons of love your way! Studio life can be a very happy life - you just have to use your creativity and make it into the space you want it to be. That's where the power of interior styling comes in. Hang in there!
