It took Victoria's Secret years to recognize a big mistake the rest of us saw in 10 seconds.
The last person to admit they were duped is always the first person that was duped. VS figured at the time they capitulated to the left they were "on the right side of history". Any time you hear that statement a leftist totalitarian is making a play at power. Every time. Thanks Obama for making that obvious to anyone with critical thinking skills years ago. Anyone but Obama surrogates 2024.
They also didn’t evolve with the change in fashion. I saw my wife move from Victoria secret nice bras to more comfortable high end sport bras. At the same time they decided to go full woke. Good riddance.
That sir...is the truth.
10 seconds? i don't think it took even 5 for a sane person
They did it because it was driven by Wall Street They took advice from Wall Street That's why they did it and that was their big mistake
As a woman I’m kinda tired of being erased for someone else’s feelings.
As women how you feel about the left telling you to shut up and deal with sharing a locker room with a mentally ill man. They calm to Carr about you but they don't care if you feel unsafe in a bathroom/locker room and they don't care if you get cheated out of a competition as long the mentality ill man feels good.
as a woman you should have stand up earlier, or at least listen to your man...
@@valojj3197 as a man you should probably learn how to use the English language before you use it. Also as a man you should probably not be so ignorant as to lump all women in the same group. If you honestly think we're all that stupid it's probably because you never speak to us because... well... you're you. You couldn't even get last year's Victoria's Secret models to talk to you. Clearly.
I'm not a woman, but I get the impression at least some women like that fantasy as well. They aren't buying lingerie to feel like Megan Rapinoe or some of these other models.
Then take up up with your sisters cuz it aint men pushing this insane crap.
Why would any company snub 90% of their customers whilst targeting the odd 0.1%?
Those 0.1% hold a lot of power in the fashion industry.
@@geocow2 no they dont lol They are the ones in the public sphere that just make the loudest noise...and we as the majority have to stop thinking we have to listen to the minority and the loudest people. I hate loud and obnoxious people that want their way

I am a woman. I love being a woman. I really love feminine girly clothes. And shopping for said clothes. So please stop trying to erase us women from existence and our love of beauty, fashion, femininity, & a magical experience.💗😻💗
I am a dude. I like beer, boats, babes, beaches, and bbqs. I respect women! Let's all respect each other and KNOW OUR ROLES.
So Megan rapino isn't a woman? The overweight women and paraplegic women in the Victoria secret show aren't women? Sounds like you being against Victoria secret for showing masculine, overweight and paraplegic women is you wanting to erase women
Erase you from existence? Lol, that’s extremely inflammatory.
Nobody is trying to do that. Thats false propaganda you’ve read. That doesn’t make anything sense -
They’re trying to erase the very people they’re trying to sell to! Doesn’t make sense, but I guess par for the course if you think like a gov’t bureaucrat! FJB 🤨🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I agree I love being a women I like sexy underwear
I find it insane that companies are pandering to people who were never going to buy the product in the first place. I find it even more insane that there are people out there who get offended at companies marketing to their target audience.
Well you have college students calling fetuses parasites..forgetting that they were once in the womb themselves. So I mean at this point nothing surprises me anymore.
All VS needed was more diversity race wise, instead the brought an entire circus from men to butch lesbians
People are commenting without acknowledging a fact. Victoria's Secret stores were closing, their sells were going down hill and their last runway show before cancellation had terrible viewing numbers. All of that before this campaign. They took that data and tried to adapt by copying what other competitors like Savage by Fenty were doing. If you know anything about the ex marketing chief of L brands, is that he didn't want any inclusivity in VS.
Megan talking about "comfortability" when talking about VICTORIAS SECRET. When I think about high fashion I don't associate that with comfortability. Those two are opposites. Nobody sits in a high glam costume and angel wings + high heels when they try to relax in the evening, because that would be annoying and probably painfull. Me being a couch potato who is not into fashion, I love comfortability and that's why I'm not into fashion. This was a major brainfart on their end trying to connect things that are complete opposites, just makes zero sense. I'm the type of woman to buy clothes that are 1 size too big just because it feels good and I don't even own a single pair of high heels. High fashion is not for me and that's okay! Why some people try to force their way into things where they don't fit makes no sense to me. Some people are so self centered that they feel they need to be involved with everything I suppose. What a funny ridiculous world we live in sometimes. I can just laugh at this. X'D
@@zebnemma Victoria's Secret is not a high fashion. They sell bras for 20$. High fashion sells for thousands sometimes hundreds of thousands.
Moral of the story: There's no shortage of ways to make your voices heard, including withdrawing support and money.
Thats anti Semitic
I doubt women who buy bras really engaged in any sort of consumer boycott.
@@Wobbothe3rd They didn't need to, their new branding and pictures spoke for itself and women decided to not spend money on them anymore.
Withdrawing your money is the #1 way to make your voice heard when it comes to dealing with businesses.
@@sam-nariman6236 Thanks for that response!
I love it how they erase women with size Medium from everywhere. All models now are either super slim and toned or obese and disabled. Nothing exists in between. Good job!
just a realization...I might be wrong....But these companies stopped showing beautiful women whom men want to be with and women might wanna be like (doesn't matter possible or not) and replaced them with people no one wants to be with and no one wants to be like, but some people can see themselves in them? how is that a good business move?
Exactly & well put. Victoria Secret didn't even have to pay you a fortune for this marketing advice that ACTUALLY WORKS. Who are the marketing dumb-bells who do get paid for destroying their brand?
Absolutely, when the fashion world started with the ugly it was a true turn off. Hope they learned something.
Correct. They try to promote people who in actuality are really nothing to aspire toward regarding Men's sexual desire. Its good to be kind to all folks but they went overboard. The result ended up being a very costly business experiment that completely ruined the brand.
Communism and its rebrands are all pure bitter envy.
Also who think women want to see ugly women as well XD
I genuinely don’t understand why this campaign didn’t work. I honestly can’t think of anything that would make the average woman feel better about herself than a wealthy, bitter lesbian.
Or a literally man wearing bras and things made for women..
What? She doesn't identify as an obese trans midget double amputee? 😂
😂😂😂
🤣
Might be because the average woman likes looking a beauty also and Rapinow and overweight bodies just are not aesthetically beautiful.
Rapinoe had ZERO business modeling anything. She's maybe 1 step ahead of Mulvaney in looking feminine. Its not a big step.
Nah, Rapinoe is still female in every cell, and Mulvaney is a disgusting facsimile.
That's why I said "looking" feminine. You're absolutely correct though.
Aye no cap Rapinoe gotta body on her. If she wasn’t an idiot feminist, she be straight.
I know what was Sue Bird thinking?
@@ChollieD Totally , Rapinoe look like a man too.
If any of their executives are surprised at this result, they clearly don't know what they're doing and should be fired.
The sensible thing that Victoria secret should have done is create or buy a separate line to cater for diverse body types. This would have ensured that VS still catered to its loyal customers based on the company’s original business model and if the second brand failed it would not affect the whole brand or alternatively the new inclusive line would thrive on its own business model catering to their target market.
Why? to satisfy a non-existent customer base? Because 'woke'?
The sooner companies stop pretending they are more than what they truly are - businesses to make money - and cut the virtue signaling bullcrap, the better.
The millennial marketing managers truly think that their delusional woke ideology is shared by everybody, when they are indeed the outliers.
There’s more money to be made targeting the impulsive, they pander to whoever is most financially frivolous.
Who in turn end up being the people that follow these stupid trends.
It isn't the companies it is the people that work for them. Anyone who has worked in a company office in the last 20 years has to realize that making a profit has not been the objective. It is all about the employee's lifestyle and politics. Making money and staying in business is the least of their problems.
I just wish we could go back to the 80s and 90s to be honest. It is just like comparing the differences of the Gelette ads then vs now.
Exactly! Like McDonald's and their "no longer cheap, which is why we use to go to McD's, because they were cheap" new business model, and getting rid of the kid-decor and going more adult-modern? Paying $8.02 for a quarter pounder meal? The whole world is going "woke" and it's the dumbest crap ever. I see a person on a commercial who's a model, I don't think to myself "where's the representation". If I want the product or don't want it, I'll make the free-willed decision.
I will never understand why brands think going woke to appeal to one percent of the population is a good business model therefore alienating the majority of the population
because they listen to twitter and have it confused for real people who actually buy things.
It's something they're pressured/fooled into by the DEI industry (e.g. DEI scores, DEI consultants, etc).
Blackrock and other major companies makes them do it. You have to literally meet DEI requirements to get loans. Look it up.
Victoria secret is expensive. The company could choose to reduce the bras and underwear and lingerie. I would shop there more often if they reduced thier product.
Far more than 1 percent of the population believes in equality and inclusion...fairness and acceptance.
Why are these companies so eager to offend their customers?
Because they are self destructive idiots in charge.---BOYCOT these companies forever.
They think they can afford it and it many cases they do able to get away with it because customers are stupid in general
Remember that Megan was also a spokes woman for Subway, and that was an epic fail also for Subway.
It wasn't even about trying to please everyone, which is never possible. It was about pleasing the fringe elements that were shouting at the them the loudest. Companies like this forget there is a silent majority that can vote with their wallets.
Fringe elements that don't even buy anything from them.
This is the equivalent of a child crying in a store to get their mother to buy them some snacks and doesn't even want them once they get home...
Someone should have sent VS a pair of noise cancelling earbuds. 😉
It requires some of that same fringe element within the company too. There are a lot of nutcases with communications 'degrees' who go into marketing or HR. The rot comes from within.

I used to shop at VS because I wanted to have pretty underwear, but also because I wanted to feel sexy for my husband and myself. VS was aspirational, I wanted to look like one of their models, but then they went woke and I got over them. Contrary to the feminists out there, most women like feeling like women, and Rapinoe isn’t that.
Yeah, and that is exactly the same reason why gyms advertise with well muscled, extremly good and fit looking men. 6 pack, muscles, everything included.
Does I know I will not look like this when I start to work out? Sure - but I want to look just a little closer to this men.
That's why they don't advertise with fat, unfit man - because no man wants to look like that.
And the same with woman (or husbands / boyfriends who buy VS stuff for their wife/girlfriend): Obviously they know that they won't look like the Angels - but they get a little bit closer to those extremly beautiful woman.
Just like a men gets a tiny bit closer to the fit, 6-pack dude on the gym advertising.

This should be a lesson to companies to listen to their core customer base and not the 1 percent they are trying to please.
It's ironic that every company that has gone woke has realized that they do not have enough customers to keep them profitable. I mean Duh!!!
And their old customers shouldn't go back back. Shut them down
Who would have thought that a bunch of unemployed loud basement dwellers don't buy anything.
Actually there are a lot of woke companies that have plus sized models, that do extremely well. Instead of sexy clothing for skinny women, its sexy clothes for larger bodies. MADE for larger bodies.
@unknownchronic you must have a different definition of extremely well than I do. I'm sure plus sized and other niche boutiques do well enough but there are not enough customers in those demographics to create a global multi- billion dollar company. I'm sure they do well but not "extremely" well.

There are physics involved here.
Delicate fabrics are going to fall apart under the strain of trying to contain a hippo... or two.
Fabrics suitable for tents and awnings don't tend to drape well.
Who makes it becomes irrelevant at that point.
There is nothing attractive about seeing a couple of yards of fabric disappear into a crease like that.
My mom said to me once that I need to stop listening to people who haven't done anything...It's true. Let the woke brigade build their own profitable businesses and then corporations can follow them, otherwise, do a better job of knowing and respecting your base.
Your mum’s a smart woman and you’re smart too for taking her advice on board ❤
Don't listen to people - listen to their success stories. Most people will tell you all that you need to know about themselves and more.
Comparing 2 past friends:
- One worked for Geek Squad. He was late often but did a good job. A new manager fired him for being late, and he complains about this to this day.
- One worked for Geek Squad. He was on time and did a good job. He worked there for a few years and got another job, and think it was an okay job.
The second person was a better person in general - more respectful, less judgmental, and more calm too.
That's what I wonder. Why don't these woke crusaders spend their own money making the kind of movies and products they say the world wants, then keep all the profits?
Instead of bankrupting sensible companies who should know better?
Tolkien once told me that “evil cannot create, it can only corrupt that which was already created.” And it seems to apply to wokeness.
apparently the woke brigade succeeded at infiltrating the leadership rank of these corporations, but well they're still greedy pieces of shits who love money and fame, so really nothing changed.

Their brand was fetishistic. The brand didn't get popular by being "realistic." This is also why mainstream movies suck now. They traded away fantasy for an agenda.

Victoria’s Secret should have just called me and I could have saved them A LOT of money. I have birth defects and wear prosthesis on both legs. (Amputee on right side). From the knees down I’m disproportionally short to the rest of my body. NOBODY (including myself) wants to see me in lingerie, hobbling and limping down a catwalk. There's nothing stopping them from having "woke" and "diverse" clothing lines and products. But to make that as the new image of your brand, it's just logic that you're gonna lose your original market. You literally exchanged a huge market and pandered to a niche market. No wonder your sales fell down.
They thought that there are a looooooot of "woke" people, but reality is there aren't that many, they're just LOUD.
Even when you make something that is flattering to the less than perfect body, you still need to model it on someone who is at least average. Putting a man in a lovely, flowing, lacy, nightgown and house coat does not do the trick.
They are many they simply not their buyers 😅
I shop at VS because I look at a pretty model and think "That looks good, I'd like to try it on myself." I look at an imperfect model and may not notice the lingerie because the model makes it less appealing. That's the harsh reality. We want what is attractive. If ugly sold products we'd have a different idea of what's attractive. But we don't. I have never looked at a man wearing women's underwear and thought "that would look nice on me." I would think "This must be designed for men." VS is not for both sexes to wear. If a man wants to wear them, all power to him but don't market it to women using men models. We will stop buying then.
You cannot do that because the woke wants "inclusion" Didn't you hear what happened when the Olympics added an open category, aka trans category?

The market decides what's profitable.
The people have spoken with their wallets, and they "feel more comfortable in their bodies" with the previous style of Victoria's Secret!
Making a profit is literally the only job a company has. And what is wrong with that?
We're are not stupid. We can see it, but for them to backtrack, and so fast, really shows what their brand is about@@memeznthingz
Can’t believe they did underwear modelling in wheel chairs. Utterly insane
imagine thinking majority of people 1. can totally relate to being in a wheel chair and 2. think that's sexy. Corporate America is full of dumb idiots with fancy degrees but no brains.
😂me too. What they were thinking huh
LOL, holy crap, I did not know they took it that far. Good lord, anyone could have told them that this was a terrible idea.
When you see what happened to Bud, you’d be crazy to follow
i was gasping.....
Holy crap I heard about this but I didn't know it was _this_ bad. That catwalk with the disabled people is hilarious! 🤣
I'm going to start my own line and call it Roseanne's Secret...
Then get Tim Curry to model it. 😂🤣😂🤣😂
These companies don’t learn.
When you don't learn, you'll never earn
This is unsurprising.
I don’t use TikTok, but came across a CZcams video recently that was going all in, complaining about how Gen Z is all over TikTok heavily pushing for inclusivity to be done away with in modeling and to bring it back to the tall beautiful women that were picked for their freakishly gorgeous genetics. Apparently it’s become a thing all over beauty and fashion TikTok that it’s getting enough people upset, and they’re all complaining about how it’s that “younger generation ruining things”.
The woman in the video was complaining about how toxic and harmful it is to beauty standards and that it makes no sense because “we” spent years fighting for diversity and showing all walks of life …
It’s like the poor girl just didn’t get it. People don’t want to see inclusivity. They want exclusivity. _That_ is what makes a brand sought after. THAT is what brings sales. It’s that fantasy of “if I buy this, then I can look like that.” … which doesn’t happen when it is focused on inclusivity. No one wants to buy “sexy lingerie” if they think it’s going to look like a mumu on them, too. No one wants to buy a cute pajama set if it’s going to make them look like the model that’s pushing 350lbs showing every inch of cellulite and stretch marks. It does NOT make them feel some type of way to where they want to purchase it and feel just as desirable in it as it would if someone like Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, or Heidi Klum was wearing it, y’know?
That’s not to say women can’t have cellulite or stretch marks. It’s just the way things are modeled and marketed really changes the consumer’s perspective on a brand heavily. What once used to be this line of exclusive lingerie and clothing is now something anyone and everyone can get. It’s not special anymore.
So, if I can give Gen Z some credit, I’ll give them some for pushing for the industry to get back to recognizing beauty. Sure, everyone is beautiful in their own way, but let’s not pretend that Tess Holiday is the same as Cindy Crawford in terms of that beauty lol.
Well said! When I’m wanting to shop at VS, i don’t want to see ads with that legless lady scooting down the runway and dragging her privates on the ground in her underwear 🤢 I want to see the angels like Giselle. Not because I look anything like her but sometimes I want to lie to myself and pretend I do look like her. As for inclusivity, VS has always been inclusive of different ethnicities. You won’t see the fashion houses of Europe having 300 lb models in wheelchairs on their Paris runways.
You know they were losing money even with their old format. Ridiculous just crushed them. They took a break then came back trying to copy Rhianna's brand but they failed.
"not to say women cant have stretch marks"
well, yeah, nothing is preventing them from having it except being an indicator to the possibility of death from the complications casued by obesity.
Well said.
@@RhaegarDefense You really think that only obese people have stretch marks? sounds like you have never seen a naked body 😂 Even skinny people can have stretch marks.
Great example of corporations using whatever they can to improve their (very sexy) bottom line, irrespective of social betterment or otherwise.
Too late-take no prisoners!
When a company realizes the loud voices on Twitter are actually just a handful of people that do not effect sales haha.
I was in a changing room with several women a few days ago. I was wearing a vintage Victoria Secret Bra, all of them remarked at how beautiful the bra was; I replied it was from a time when VS was in the business of making beautiful bras that made us all feel beautiful when we wore them. I vote we bring back beautiful bras. Also, we don't mind paying a bit more for a beautiful bra, but if you are making every day housemarm bras we can get them cheaper elsewhere.
Well, that’s what this video is about. They are going back to their sexy bras. So watch the video
Victoria Secret Goblin vs Angel
I love that you included both "look like Upton vs Rapinoe" _and_ "play soccer like Upton vs Rapinoe," to show that it's not inherent bias for beauty, but towards value _within that sphere_
From what my wife and other female friends have told me, maybe 1 in 10 stopped shopping at VS because of the wokeness. The other 9 in 10 don't feel the quality is there to justify handing over 10x the money anymore. For most women, it's about the value of the purchase. Why buy a $1,000 dress when Target sells the same dress for $100, but also includes sewn in pockets? Most women aren't paying attention to these VS shows. It's their men thinking of getting their women something that noped out of the market.
Very true, majority of the women I dated will only buy from VS when they feel like spoiling themselves. There are so many clothing companies that provide same quality of materials also. It's just the brand that makes it expensive, not really the quality anymore. People are willing to just pay for a name, but quality was a bonus for them.
This is a good insight! I think you’re right. It’s been several years since I shopped there for myself, and that was with a gift card. But the products were not comfortable enough for all day wear (I mean basics, not teddies, etc.) There are just too many places to get higher quality and lower price
A 10% drop in business is a big problem for any company.
@@elusivemayfly7534 according to my female friends, they'd only wear the VS lingerie for special occasions, like for their boyfriend's birthday.
Because Target supports China
Shocking! Who would have known that people don't greatly care to be lectured when all they want is to buy an impact driver, winter tires, a latte, a movie ticket, sparkling water, after shave or what have you...?!?!?
They should keep the woke policy for another 10 years for science
I used to spend thousands of dollars on Victoria secret they had bras, undies, tops, jeans, shoes, makeup and perfumes they also had a line of swimwear. I would buy everything on the vs magazine. Now I haven’t bought anything from VS in years
Me too. I used to purchase stuff from VS all the time. I haven't spent a dime on them in at least 10 years.
@@dlady4 As you get older, you no longer need that kind of clothing.
Now they trying to market the same stuff you can get at Wal Mart😂
ppl grow more wise and matured. its opposite for woke ppl tho
Quit buying my wife sexy items there when they went woke.
The larger, more pressing problem is that our educational system is churning out these brainwashed, social critics posing as business majors at an alarming rate.
This is indeed the larger truth.
Maybe not for much longer, give the number of universities that are being defunded for being Pro-Hamas.
Thank you. Nobody is talking on this. But it's very disturbing to hear at lectures, teachers and professors even yell at their students. "you must be that voice, at all costs of everything, ours is a culture war, you must be the spark of change , go out there and change the world, we are the modern freedom fighters for Women and POC!!"
Most of that is verbatim from people I've discussed this with from all walks of life. Schools and Universities along with Hollywood are quite literally trying to fundamentally change society into some genderless, colorless, godless, society where we all just find happiness in consuming and obeying.
It is quite literally 1984 at its worst. And all people can do is get caught up on specific things and laugh and poke fun at the Live Action Little Mermaid or Victoria's Secret. But no one stops and genuinely ask "but why?" What is the bigger picture with this? Where is it all going to lead us as a society?
@@goawayleavemealone2880 important difference no matter what side you're on. People are being punished for going against Israel, not for support hamas
That's because our education system is no longer an education system. Today, you go to school to learn how to be a mindless, incompetent idiot. A modern degree is not a credential, but rather a certificate of intellectual disability.
Their low sales could also be from high inflation, dropping birth rates, few relationships, COVID mentality, and expensive products.
Ok, I'll say what we're thinking.
THEY FORGOT WHERE THEY CAME FROM.
For the young people in the audience, Victoria's Secret back in the day probably had half their sales were from men buying their girlfriend or wife something from there. Men either went there" or had the woman there recommend something" or just get a gift card. It was the same thing with Tiffany's Jewelry. Both of these were celebration gifts, because it was always an expensive store.
Thanks to feminism, those days are long gone we men owe feminism a huge debt of gratitude for exposing true female nature and saving us thousands over a miserable lifetime of servitude to ungrateful women
@@stevenshadbolt2366 Lol, thats silly. Women ask for material things, men ask for physical things. Whats wrong with that? As long as each persons getting something, I don't see the issue.
If you don't want to buy a woman something, just don't buy it.
@@BattleBladeWarrior So women don't ask or need the physical thing, that is your conclusion? Or that all women are whores because they sell the physical thing for material things?!
@@stevenshadbolt2366Newly divorced? I'm an old woman, and I've been married over 50 years. I am an independent thinker and I've never really needed a guy to do most household repairs, etc. However, I am not a feminist. I usually enjoy the company of men more than women. You don't have to constantly walk on eggshells when talking to a man. I sometimes allow my husband to think I need help with some minor thing. It keeps him feeling "like a man."😅 I sure hope life gets better for you. Sounds like you need to release some steam.
So under the original marketing idea selling to both men and women celebrated inclusivity. They were ahead of their time.
I’m a 64 year old male - I have never seen a plus size woman turn heads in a public venue. Pretty, busty, and young women will always sell. Telling people to envy and be attracted to something they are not is a fools errand.
I can confirm this from lived experience. The amount of attention I got as a slim thing vs what I get now with 80 extra lbs. It's a stark difference. Night and day.
Yeah, it's just an atomic truth. There's a comedy line something like "Hot chicks never go out of style" fashions change: hippies, revolutionary chic, glam etc. maybe at first someone creates interest by being something new but ultimately the clothes may change but the basic truth never changes.
@@smilebehappy6102 🤣🤣
You haven't been in a crowded elevator then.
I've known some plus size women that did turn heads. Because they knew how to carry themselves. And not wear epandex.
As a disabled person I actually agree with this one. Show us. Show our naked vulnerability to the world. See how the world is repulsed.
That last reporter couldn’t be any happier to say “go woke go broke”.
Finally, this now needs to be presented as the reference scenario for the different industries: Hollywood, Gaming, etc. Thank you to everyone who spoke with their wallets, sincerely.
what really rubs me the wrong way and i'm assuming everyone else as well is that these companies have decided it's up to them to tell us what we like.
we're just children who don't know any better and they need to educate us on what is good for us.
And that's why people stop buying from them.
And the buck stops here
How many more companies need to fall into woke hole in order to understand that this wont be good. They seems to forgot about one important rule, dont force customer nothing.
I'm just going to say this. I've dated girls with scars and one with a prosthetic leg. That doesn't make them ugly, their personalities do that for them.
They did two things wrong here. The reason why other lingerie brands that do better with plus size or curvy people do well is because they offer designs that are both sexy and flattering on people with those kinds of body types. VS just threw out the same kind of designs they would make for supermodels and put them on bodies that they weren't flattering on, because they misunderstood what larger clients were saying as "I want the same sexy designs in bigger sizes, regardless of how they would look on my body," instead of "I want larger sized designs that are also flattering to my body type and make me feel sexy." When I worked there as a salesgirl, bigger women often told me they wished that there was a wider variety of bra cup and band sizes available (which I think is very valid and doable, but didn't really happen with VS to the extent that would have helped them in in this rebrand). The second thing they did wrong was cater to a group of people who will only complain and never shop with them, regardless of the changes they make, because they just don't like the idea of the brand. What they should have done was listen to all the women, who over the years, have been down with the underlying concept but couldn't shop there because the main item they sold, bras (which are also practical and easier to find flattering solutions for curvy women than their dessous stuff), were not available in those women's sizes.
I remember in the late 90's, Entertainment Tonight did a story about a Victoria's Secret fashion show and the hosts were praising it, saying the models looked healthy and were actually smiling as opposed to the stone faced, anorexic, androgynous models usually scene on fashion show runways.
How far we've fallen.
Yes! I remember them saying that VS models weigh 20 pounds more, on average, than the anorexic fashion show models, and they were so much sexier as a result
Woke is a Joke. CEO needs to be fired and Sued by investors.
This prove's one thing: You're dollar is your vote. Don't like things the way things are, don't buy into it, literally.
I think woke already reached it's high watermark tbh. They got away with A LOT for a long time because people were super disengaged and just assumed "ah yeah that's those crazy ppl, doesn't really affect me that much though", but then they took it too far and rather than being happy with the little play kingdom we'd carved out for them in HR departments, they decided they were going to make themselves heard in everyone's lives at every moment from games to movies to fashion, at which point people rebelled and it became clear just how much the entire world hates them.
Basically, they overplayed their hand and as a result people have stopped simply letting them do their thing because it's less effort as was the case initially; they made coexistence with them so unbearable that ironically now everyone has made it a priority to make sure their attitudes are not accepted or tolerated anywhere, and they're figuring out just how many people they've pissed off. I'm not sure why they were so dumb to force a conflict when they were obviously a tiny fringe minority, but there it is. They should have been happy with the leeway they were given to do their thing, it was already way more than their level of public support justified.
Who really thought that VS would grow because of this ‘woke’ stuff?! It was funny then and hilarious now. The product was beauty no matter the race. They changed it to something akin to something grotesque.
You are ignoring the fact that Victoria’s Secret was going down the tubes before this. The business model was failing before this because customers are no longer interested in their product
I agree.
As Razorfist asserts, it’s go broke, get woke, and then f’ing croak.
Yep their quality is very poor for the prices that they are charging
Right? This is when men with podcasts and no business degree make videos. Fenty is very inclusive and stole all their market. That was the first issue. So clearly wokeness wasn’t the problem.
The sales were constantly growing up until 2016. They took a little dive in 2017, then sales kept growin up until 2020. The sales dropped significantly in 2020, but went up in 2021, and _then_ started the fall.
This occured in 2019. In other words, you're wrong.
Das kommt davon, wenn man auf jeden Zug aufspringen muss 😂
The funny thing about the Victoria secret runway way shows...the mega petite, ultra skinny models are there to show off their fashion designer's pieces, but they originally used these types of models b/c their seamstress/fashion designer doesn't have to use a lot of material. I'm a regular man, to premise, and though I think some of the models have pretty faces; being a person that's just skin&bones isn't 'sexually' attractive, same with the oddities they flipped to, which in turn made them flop.🤷
The perfect example of "if something ain't broke don't fix it"
I thought these marketing guys are meant to be smart I’m a bricklayer and I could have told you if you ignore 99% of your customers to cater to the 1% you will fail
