I am a kid of the nineties. My parents had TV. Lets no pretend that wasn't a thing. Also I did play outside a lot and guess what my parents never watched me! Do you think that would fly today? Especially when there was an uptake of abductions in the nineties. They had to ban an episode of barney who said strangers were your friends. We would want to watch our kids as they play outside from just surviors guilt. Also parents have very little support. Its very expensive most are working full time and have to manage the house. Please have empathy before making sweeping statements. Parents are very worried about screen time. I think ultimately 1. sometimes there is nothing else 2. All of the world now is connected to a phone or tech. no way to avoid it. again please show some empathy. It goes a lot way in solving problems. But who am I kidding, the internet is not about solving problems.

Social media also preys on the elderly. I can’t tell you the amount of times my siblings and I have had to yell at our mom to GET OFF OF FACEBOOK. She believes everything she reads on there, no matter how much we tell her that it’s nothing but lies. I think Millennials are one of the most important generation in the history of the world. We are the ones who grew up through the most rapid advance in technology that the world has ever known. We are the last to know what it was like before the Internet and what it is like after. And far too little of us are in leadership positions because everyone is trying to retain their power. It’s time for a change and I believe my generation is wise and will do the right thing.

Social media has definitely been detrimental to my daughter 's mental health. Not only has she experienced bullying, but she experienced toxicity at a level that no child should ever have to worry about.
We had her phone regulated as best we could, but as others have said, kids will still find a way around those restrictions.

Warnings are all well and good, but when they try to FORCE the issue--ridiculously high taxes on cigarettes and seatbelt laws, for example--they can F**K RIGHT OFF. Give us the information, and LET US USE IT AS WE SEE FIT. That would truly be responsible freedom, as opposed to the nanny state in which we currently live.

I watch the View everyday - great panel, great guests. I am a baby boomer so cell phones were not part of my childhood and yet... I find myself spending to much time on social media on my phone. I am conciously making choices to reduce my time doing that. Modeling is important too... the panel is well respected. It would be great if the panelists didn't bring their smartphones to the table during the show - they are also promoting (even if it is sublimanilly) that we need to have our smartphones beside us at all times. I expect there is another way to reach them in case of emergency as they all have earbuds connected to producers. thanks, L
