- A Tennessee dad says it’s a “miracle” his 17-year-old daughter is alive after a horrific car crash. Kevin Mullins’ daughter says she looked down for just a second to change a song that she was listening to when she suddenly crashed into the guard rail. Although the steel rail impaled the vehicle, she escaped the car with only minor injuries. Inside Edition’s Jim Moret spoke with Mullins and his daughter at the crash site.
I rather spend thousands of dollars fixing my car than burying my daughter. I’m very glad she’s okay.
i know what youre getting at, but that car is written off
I’d walk barefoot in the snow for the rest of my life penniless if it would have saved my son.
Yup insurance will just right it off but your kids life is priceless
AMEN TO THAT! !

She's alive. Thats whats most important
You mean the fact she didn't kill anyone else with her distracted driving? That would be the important lesson, also looks like you can't even damage your car that bad if you're distracted, so I might even presume she was drunk
WRONG!!!! She’s SUCH a TERRIBLE driver…..THAT’s the MASSIVE, ONGOING PROBLEM!!!!
Who gives a s**t about the car, his daughter is alive.
the girl, probably. she’s probably freaking out because in her mind, the car is super important. i’m so happy she’s alive
I know, sometimes inside edition gets on my nerves🤦🏾♀️
Agreed. But if she did all that damage trying to change the song she doesn’t need another car.

I wonder if that guardrail was installed properly. There's a guy who makes videos spreading awareness about guardrails not being properly installed. I think his daughter died that way. This girl was lucky and blessed. Dad sounds so grateful it didn't crush her to death.
Exactly what I thought of.
You won't blame the guardrail for the reckless driving, won't you?
@@Mzd455is that really how you chose to approach that comment? Brain rot
@@Mzd455A guardrail isn't supposed to stay straight it should crumple and go in the direction away from the car hitting it on impact. This is definitely a bad installation that could've cost someone a life
@@Mzd455no, but we can surely blame your parents for your ignorance.
That is a dad who really loves his daughter! I’m glad she was OK!
Sure does, when he gets there before the police
Thank you God for sparing this young girls life. ❤
this is exactly what my mother experienced. my brother was 16 at the time, he woke up at 6am to pick my grandmother up from work & go to breakfast with her. it was 7am & my mom was heading to work on the interstate, seen the guardrail broken and bent up with my brother’s car flipped over & an ambulance at the scene. she immediately parked to the right side of the road and ran across through on-coming traffic just praying he was okay. he had fallen asleep behind the wheel & the car had flipped 3x. if he didn’t have a seatbelt on, he’d be gone. but by the grace of God he only had a sprained arm. he immediately was apologizing for the car but my mom just kept saying “forget the car. i’m just happy you’re okay.” one of a parent’s worst fear is having to bury their child. i’m beyond grateful God spared my mother & this man of this. my father was more upset about the car upon seeing how “okay” my brother was appearance wise. & this definitely affected their relationship till this day as my father is not the apologizing type. but yea.. it helped me realize do not place importance on material in these situations. it can greatly impact how your children view the value of their lives. so happy her dad reacted like my mom.
Real magic is fake. Fake magic is real.
In my family, one of my Uncles died from it and another car accident that happen with my Dad from slipping black ice, he survived it and still living
@@KC-rp5se I’m so sorry about your uncle. That must’ve been scary 😢
Your brother is really lucky. Everyone deserves a parent like your mom.
It's a miracle she survived. Whatever she had to do on her phone could had waited--not while she's driving! I hope she takes this experience as a warning.
It might not even have been her phone, a lot of cars have touch screen radio consoles now and they really shouldn't be imo. That kind of stuff needs to be tactile so you can feel what you're doing without having to look, in the circumstance that you need to be doing something. Ideally even with tactile feedback one shouldn't be trying to do much if they're driving solo or should ask their passenger to change a song for them
@@KathrynNimmoThat's very true, there's actually been a study on how the physical dials and nobs distracted people less when they were driving.
When you have touch screen radios you actually have to focus on the screen and seperate everything by looking at it because you don't have the distinct feel of some of the nobs and dials.
@@KathrynNimmo Stop making excuses for her. That's an old for with regular knobs on the radio. Bonus that it likely has steering wheel controls. Even if it required the touchscreen that's no reason to take her eyes of the road. If its that hard and she wants to change the station its the same as answering a snapchat, she can stop first.
@DavidPruitt I'm not making excuses, I don't know enough about cars, let alone a mangled one to know if it's got tactile or touch screen radios at a glance. I made a point saying that REGARDLESS of which type her eyes should have been on the road.
Edit: and if it was her phone then yes wholeheartedly she shouldn't have been using it. I am a stickler for wanting people off their phones while driving. Just glad and should be glad she wasn't impaled
@@DavidPruittthere’s a difference in making excuses and explaining what *could’ve* happened
DEFINITELY a miracle that she survive and has a second chance not to make the same mistake again. Awesome how caring her Dad is that his daughter is still alive vs the car

they have to learn to drive sometime. i had a gf that had never driven a car finally be able to afford one at 25. smashed it up within a week
The way the dad turned this into a film set is bizarre

All that for changing a song on the radio? Something isn’t adding up.
New drivers don’t know how to keep themselves on the road while distracted. They barely know how to stay steady when they’re looking at it. Probably overcorrected to center themselves and crash
Either the radio, or she was connected via Bluetooth and playing music from her phone. Probably looking down at her phone, searching for a specific song. Why do people automatically decide to record someone else's traumatic situation, hoping to get a lot of views. He started out the video with "Hey guys"...We truly have become a worldly people.
Because he can do what he wants why does it bother you
Maybe he had relatives who were worried, it’s easier to record a video than send out a bunch of long texts or make a bunch of calls.
I always wonder that too, recording something would be the last thing on my mind
He wanted to preach that his God saved his daughter, when it was just a coincidence.
@@Samo-_- It definitely wasn't for relatives. It was impersonal. He could have just filmed the car and talked about what happened. He most definitely did it for the views.
It's a deeply touching moment where a father is emotionally affected upon learning about a car accident involving his daughter. He records everything afterward, expressing his relief and gratitude to God that his daughter came out unharmed. This clearly demonstrates the profound care and love he holds for his child's well-being.
