- DESTRUNA, the pilot episode about a fantasy world where technology has advanced far beyond smartphones. Young DON's world is shattered when his mother figure GEKKA, the founder of MIXED REALITY technology, suddenly disappears - so he enters a dangerous gladiatorial tournament to win the ultimate Smartglasses, capable of showing the user THE ONE THING THEY DESIRE MOST.
Project Destruna was a colossal undertaking by Danger Dolan & a small Australian production team over two years. It features the voice talents of Tom Felton (Harry Potter), David Hayter (Metal Gear Solid), Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek) and Cristina Vee (Miraculous Ladybug), and an original score composed by Emmy award-winner Frederik Weidmann (Dragon Prince).
At the moment only episode 1 (aka this pilot) will be produced of this show - for more information, watch the following video about the development and ultimate fate of DESTRUNA: • I Made An Animated Sho...
However, given all 7 scripts have already been produced as well as many storyboards, there is potential to develop a webcomic to complete the season 1 Destruna story arc - but only with fan support via Patreon / planetdolan

As an artist and animator myself... This is stunning. I'm so mad there aren't paragraph long comments here detailing all of the different scenes and the backgrounds and details of each of them. This is so beautiful and every frame and every choice and every line and all the sounds all fit so well. I am beyond upset this never got picked up. If I got that wish, I would wish for Destruna to become a real series!

For some reason I love when non-japanese people make anime. It gives me the feeling "you don't need to be born in the perfect circumstances to succeed"
Also, Planet Dolan's evolution is a interesting case of study: from mystery top 10 countdowns to vtuber cartoons to indie anime. Just wow.
the story and lore seem good, the animation is good, the characters are good, the story starts a bit cliche and low paced but it gets better as the episode continues, i would give it an 8/10...but, for a new project outside of your comfort zone that's a great start! :)
There are definitely some room for improvement for the characters and their designs but then again this is just the pilot but for now i would give it a 7/10

Was suprising to see that David Hayter (the voice of snake) voiced a character in this project that's really cool and even Tom Felton too. I almost recognized all the names during the VA credits and didn't realise it was them until I read it. I've been watching danger dolan content for a long time and I am excited to see the channel grow This was really impressive and I hope good things come of it.
Crazy how Dolan went from a Top 10 List channel, to a fun medium level team-based brand, to helming such a high quality animated pilot.
It was a long time coming but I'm glad to have stuck around and witness the growth.

Holy crap dolan! I remember watching you in school when still went by danger dolan and were just by yourself. I remember you saying you always wanted to create a tv show. Now, not only have done that, but with some really big names attached to it as well. Words can barely describe just how proud I am to see you get this far, man.
Projects such as Destruna are a prime example on why the internet was created. Extremely creative ideas can be expressed to hundreds of thousands, and hopefully millions once this is picked up. The worldbuilding is phenomenal and the characters are unique in every way imaginable. The pacing is perfect and I was extremely invested all through-out. Bravo! 👏🎬
The style of its 3D is the kinda thing that only really gets consistent respect by investors an what not is in China which is just wrong and those Weebs who just hate 3D can eat my shoe :)

Also Dolan, looks like you got what you wanted, to actually be apart of something more meaningful then the CZcams grind with top 10s. Hope it was worth it, the fans will love and appreciate it, and CZcams will do what CZcams does and say it’s not enough content consistently enough, and somehow also find a way to give you the yellow sticker of monetization doom. But here’s hoping with enough support from fans this doesn’t die. Rooting for ya.

The concept kind of reminds me of "Tower of God" but in a techno-modern future.
A great concept with really fun and interesting character designs, not to mention the deep lore and great voice acting.
Definitely a show that I'm watching all the way through.

It’s really amazing to see you kept going through each hardship. Even if it hasn’t made its way to the screen of homes all around the world or even Australia through media companies like Netflix or Crunchyroll, it’s still great to see the work actually amount to a pilot that we can watch.
Literally just saw this now and I am very surprised by just how interesting it is. The world-building had me pulled in the whole time and the characters themselves were also pretty well done I think! I'm no critic but there were definitely more sides than one to most of the characters here. I'll be hoping for another episode but if not, I'll definitely be reading that webcomic if it comes out!

Just watched your video about the creation of the pilot and I'm gonna get a bit sappy here, despite my lack of affiliation with you guys besides just watching your videos. This honestly is heartbreaking to have all that effort and vigor put into this magical pilot just to get nothing but experience and sacrifice in return. Made me appreciate animation and the production that goes into it all the much more. All the talent from the office and overseas that was put into this show really did make it enjoyable to watch, so at the very least you can keep it under your belt as something you made that you can be proud of. So seriously, thank you for this piece of art!

Glad to see that Dolan's goal of making a cartoon came to fruition! I hope this brings a lot more traction to the channel and it really does deserves it for the quality of the work! The animation, the sound, the characters, the plot. EVERYTHING is so amazing. I would LOVE to watch a full show like this. It is the most inspiring thing I've seen in years. I've truly been waiting for this for quite someone not only for a band new comeback, but a brand new project to boost a swell.
Spoiler Alert; we got a certain purple bird who gonna make a cameo soon at the beginning or at least elsewhere In this video along with a certain pink cat as well. ;P
Honestly, this was super great. I love seeing new and original things, especially when everything is just reboots these days. This was done so well, the animation, the voice talent, the intrigue with the world and lore, the pacing... I'm glad in your behind the scenes video you seem to be willing to save up and try again. I think it's worth it with this. Don't give up, even if you have to take a break. You still learned so much and the team put out something amazing that I hope to see more of in the future. As long as it's still yours, it's never impossible to have it picked up by someone eventually. I believe in this project, for what it's worth, and I hope you don't give up on it. Keep that tenacity and ambition, it's sure to pay off, and this really will be a great underdog story in the future.

Though I'll be brutally honest - part of the reason I want this to succeed is so people will draw art of the pink haired girl. The eyemask, the pink hair, the outfit - all quite good for art, y'know..
Seeing all the work that had to go into this and the low points every one hit back in 2020, this deserves much more attention than it's getting.

I love this episode so far I'm super excited to see what's next. The only real criticism I would say I have is that it gets hard to follow what's going on as New things are introduced, but other than that it was amazing! Cannot wait to see what happens next.

I very rarely comment on CZcams videos purely because I'm paranoid, but this is an exception. I've been watching Super Planet Dolan for quite a while and this is a refreshing new work of art. A fantastic pilot, and it is such a shame that it was never picked up by Netflix and the like, it would probably be one of the few shows I actually watch nowadays. I sincerely hope for more, the team did an amazing job!

Love the premise of this show, I can't wait to see this continue further. You all pushed so hard to get this point together. To quote Dolan from the Making A Cartoon in 2019 video, "...our goal from day one is to make a cartoon..." and I as well as everyone else are happy to see you fulfill your dreams, you and the whole team. Even after some rough times, you all made something you all can be proud of, and to quote Dolan again, I can only hope you all can make that "...one lousy season...".
I feel like this will be a great story, and from what I've seen it usually is when the protagonist fails immediately. The sheer determination to know the truth is quite a powerful motivator.
Great sound design and unique animation style as well.
First time reading every name in the credits, I love the story! The show is engaging and looks great, the world feels mysterious enough to make me think but explained enough to keep me from confusion, and I really like swords!
I feel like "show don't tell" was taken a little too far, since I felt like I didn't know what a lot of words meant and can't remember most of the names of the characters, but I am VERY excited to see more come out!
And of course, it's AWESOME that you got to do this after wanting to make a cartoon series for so long, Dolan! Wishing you the best!
